Being old as the hills here, some of my best learning moments have been from members that no longer come here.

PhyllisStein was a member who I debated with quite a bit on abortion many moons ago. Back then I considered myself pro life, but she made me realise I can not agree with abortion for non medical cases and still support choice - which I do, and that this is really pro choice. I think she also realised I wasn't some hateful nutty pro lifer, just one that was struggling with the topic.

The long term TTC girls - there are so many - Bel, Bunxx, Shrillian, Starflame, CinderElla and so many more. There were days where I could barely function I was so devastated over losses and not getting pg. I celebrate for those of us that have graduated and feel sadness and empathy for those that haven't

There are so many friendships I've made on here, some I've met IRL.
@Degrassi - I love the way that being a mod hasn't stopped your honest replies. You are polite and kind but you still speak your mind.

Gah there is so much to say for someone that's been here 9 years

ETA @kw123 while she isn't really active anymore, a thread she started about the WHO findings on breast feeding was the beginning of my healing over using formula. I've now come full circle and I'm 100% comfortable with my choices.

Bubhub led me to find someone who was able to help educate me on the ways of homebirth and breastfeeding. She was someone who was able to lead me to work towards healing my birth trauma from my first baby - I am still friends with her, and it's all thanks to bubhub.

Apart from that, I enjoyed Bubhub from a social aspect. It gave me a place to chat to others, namely other mothers, whilst I was stuck at home parenting small babies. I felt I could come here, have a laugh, but also enjoy some really nitty gritty discussions/debates with others, and I LOVED that. It really played a part in me keeping my sanity during long hours without other adult company.

My funniest moment was the last awards night thread. I was in stitches. @White Mage kept posting these amazing gifs. A close second would be @Tamtam and her post on Degrassi's Gary thread. I read it every few months to cry with laughter.

I just think people don't realise how much their words and actions can lift others. A simple thanking of someone else's post, or some kind supportive words are noticed by people much more than we think.
Omgee. I'd forgotten about that thread. I got notification that I'd been tagged. ..and I was like. .um... was that the ducks???!!! Funnily enough DH asked me last night. ..after I said I felt a bit gassy (!!!) If ducks would be visiting. Lol

As for bub hub love. ..the girls who I met through my DIG are amazing. Not many hang around anymore. These girls have supported me through so much stuff. Real life stuff. Full on stuff. They're my life long friends. 😙

    Thanks @delirium

I have loads of respect for you, so your comments do mean a lot to me (especially after some pretty negative stuff this afternoon).

I will be back to contribute some nice stuff tomorrow.

    What a fantastic thread!

I have met some of my closest friends through BH and I wouldn't have been able to survive DD2 without them or being able to chat on here at stupid o'clock while begging a baby to sleep. 😀

I guess that comes down to a few members who I can't pinpoint but who continue to drive the message that we all have our own $hit going on and each deal with it differently.
This. Bubhub has helped me see so many topics from the other side and helped me be more thoughtful and empathetic. Sometimes I see FB posts from people I went to school with who have been married a couple of years and instead of just thinking 'gosh WHEN are you going to have babies?!' I think 'I really hope they've just chosen not to have babies or TTC yet, rather than struggling to conceive' and am careful of choosing my words with them.
It also reiterates to me just how lucky I am to have a happy marriage and be able to conceive healthy babies without any trouble, I'm probably more grateful and appreciative of what I have than if I hadn't joined bubhub.

I also sometimes wait until @harvs has replied to a thread before deciding whether to contribute, because more often than not, she writes what I want to say only more gently & eloquently than I could.

I love that I'm part of a community that what I wear, my lack of fashion and all that superficial stuff makes not one bit of difference. I love that it's a place where I can honestly talk about my kids and the bad bits not just the good bits and know that I will get advice. It's an online community that is more real than most of the interactions in my life.

i definitely agree with your last sentence! it's like you can be more your true self on here than you can in real life.
