Hi everyone -- so the clinic has contacted me to say that the donor wants to move our dates again (we already moved them to accommodate Dr Matebese's conference in July). Apparently, a week after I booked everything, the donor has a new job and needs to attend a conference that falls right across our treatment dates.

I'm furious. Changing the dates will cost us more than $1,000 in cancellation / booking change fees (flights, accommodation, car etc).

The other option the clinic and agency have presented is that we should try to find, screen etc a new donor with a month to go until the cycle starts. This doesn't seem very feasible to me.

Has anyone else been in this situation? What did you do? I seem to recall someone in this thread had this happen a while ago.

I'd probably be looking to change donors - @MrsErinR had to change donors at the last minute after her first donor had very low AMH - she will be able to shed some light perhaps.
If a donor is ready to go then screening only takes approx a week.

I agree with Em. I'd be asking your ED agency to source you another donor who fits your preferences and is ready to cycle right now. They should be able to do a ring around of their donors and respond immediately. Maybe one of the girls who has cycled recently can suggest their ED who produced good quality embryos and is available again? Good luck. I'd be furious too if I'd already changed the dates once before.

I heard from C and Dr LR will transfer with a lining of 6mm. If only I'd transferred to him from the start instead of Dr M.

Nurture seem pretty responsive so I hope they can find you someone you're really happy with. If I had brown eyes and/or hair I'd love to go with Machele (reminds me of Shirley Temple!) from Nurture but she's unproven though. Good luck!

Yes, this happened to us. Quite unexpectedly the donor we'd chosen was found to have low AMH and CFC suggested we didn't use her. Our agency (Gift ov Life) really stepped up and offered us another donor straight away that they thought would be a good match. By some fluke, we really loved her profile and so we locked it in and everything happened so fast after that. I'm now pregnant with bub #2 from that cycle. CFC were also excellent. They offered us donors from EDSA that would work for the dates and even though we decided to go with the Gift ov life one, they still really did everything possible to help us hit our dates.
@Rubywoohoo, not sure what I'd do in your situation but it certainly wouldn't hurt to investigate what other donors are available. You may or may not feel they are right for you, but you never know. I think I would have waited had the new donor not felt right for us at the time.
