Yes Petulia - we booked directly with the website. They also organised their regular driver to pick us up and give us the keys as we arrived quite late at night.

A little update on the lining scan and Medicare question. I did receive a rebate. $165 scan cost with a rebate of $82.55. I've now hit my Safety Net Threshold so I receive a $119.30 rebate now.
I have transferred from Dr M to Dr LR. Hopefully he'll be ok with a 6mm lining should I find myself in that position again next transfer. Thanks to the girls who recommended him a good few months back.

My last 4aa top grade embie defrosted ok today and is now on board...all went well. I had told Dr H upfront that I would be following Warren's protocol and he asked how I was going with all the meds. He said he was getting lots of his patients and he knew he was very well regarded in Australia. Although he said the verdict was out in regards to endometrial scratch implant improving rates (my research tells me otherwise) .. He was happy to go along with this and my protocol choices. His protocol had after all resulted in my toddler. I would recommend Dr H in regard to supporting Warren's protocol. I asked about embryo glue.. He said was used in all transfers. I also purchased pregnyl 1500 iu in Cape Town at a cost of $9 each.. As I had bought it with me., but decided I did not ice it enough so just got some more here, rather than use stuff that had gone off. Waz suggested for me pregnyl 1500 ui. 1 day before transfer.. 1 day after and then 5 days after.

I am staying at President Hotel in Sea point.. 1 night before transfer and 3 nights after transfer. Lovely 4 star hotel with fantastic buffet breakfast. Cost was $80 per night for a single with breakfast. I was upgraded to a 1 bed apartment from a studio Seaview. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you can get a similar priced deal. I have a hire car and gps so easy to get around with the hire car.. Approx $120 for 4 days with gps and Cdw. Check rentalcars.com comparison website for best deal. Clinic is approx 15 to 20 km/ min drive away from hotel.

It's just the 2ww wait for me now and a couple of restful days in Cape Town before leaving. Fingers crossed my little embie is settling in nicely.

Good luck to everyone else going thru the process.

    Hi everyone!
So I have now received my treatment plan and am all confirmed with dates, flights, accommodation, and car hire - arriving in Cape Town 12 July. I agree with @kylie764 about rentalcars.com giving you the best deal. I found my accommodation through airbnb - $670 for 12 nights at The Quadrant (for two of us). I debated staying at the V&A and then figured that it's only a 15 min drive, so why not go for the cheaper option?

I have an appt with Warren on the 2nd of June, and presumably he will then change the no-frills treatment plan I have been sent to include at the very least a ton of prednisone (I have autoimmune issues) and more clexane.

It's lovely to see all the successes on this thread, and how supportive everyone is - you are inspirational. Thanks! X

Hi, thanks TannyMac. Looks beautiful but a bit pricey for just the two of us.

We should be there around the same time, if the donor's results all come back fine, and are likely to be staying at The Quadrant as well, seems so reasonable and looks really nice.
