Wish I could see the infamous Wazza. We're in Vic. Maybe he does skype consults?????
Sorry - I don't think Wazza does Skype sessions.... (But I guess you could ask his office?)
If you were to meet Wazza you would understand - he is like a big ole' country larrikin. His office is a tiny little 'box' room in his suites. Charlotte and all his girls have lovely modern areas but Wazza's office reminds me of some 1970's doctors room. (Paper and files strewn everywhere).
In saying that his ultrasound machine he has tucked around the corner is high resolution etc (better than my OB's dinky, fuzzy one)

Thanks @Tahli - it seems a long way off but of course I'm already looking at the prices for the vineyard. Am tempted to book (a reservation I can cancel if need be) for approx dates as it will be Jan and no doubt pretty busy.
I don't think we'll do PGD... we just can't afford it really so we'll have to use embryoscope and hope for the best.
I'm assuming that as we're using frozen sperm I can arrive in on day 2 (incase we're looking at a day 3 transfer) and will be able to leave on day 6? Might need to look at a flight I can change on the way back?
Hmmm lots to think about! @JulieMalooley my body is kind of like a deflated balloon at this stage so I doubt it!

I've hard The Quadrant is nice. Right opposite the clinic apparently.

The Quadrant looks good and yes it's right in the centre where the clinic is - it looks very secure, there are restaurants downstairs and a little supermarket up the road or you can head to Cavendish Sq for a bigger supermarket. You'll find some of the apartments within Quadrant listed on AirbnB I think one of the owners is Hans? Or Dr Le Roux's wife used to lease out an apartment in there too - if you ask your nurse for a recommended accommodation listing it was on that list.

Just discovered Dr Geoffrey Sher and man, you could go on forever learning about IVF ... Wish I had know about him earlier. Based on what I've read about older women the protocols I've been on have not been right for me. I had no idea about agonists vs antagonists, etc. Now I'm ****ed off that these so-called experts we see who take piles and piles of our money don't actually bother to tailor a protocol that is actually best for us. I feel like I've just ****ed the last 4 years of my life and tens of thousands of dollars down the toilet. So angry. I might have actually been able to use my own eggs if it hadn't been for numerous so-called specialists f***ing up.
Sorry for the downer ladies. Just having one of those moments.

Thats exactly how I felt after wasting 10 cycles because FSs don't know anything about immune issues in Aus. Dr Matthias was my saviour on the 11th cycle plus DE.

Had my Day 10 scan and bloods today...lining is 13mm.. bloods all looks good according to Wazza's nurse and Charlotte (as Waz is away)... I am all set for transfer of my last frostie next Thursday 19th May. Have been straight with Dr H that I am following Waz's protocol after my reaction to Gestone last cycle and have said I am getting ready for transfer next Thursday... so he needs to schedule me for that day. Forward bloods and scan results to him and he has agreed. He has said he is supportive of my choice to follow Waz's protocol, given my reaction last time. Feeling pretty ill on all the drugs though...had to pull over on the way to work yesterday and vomit all my breakfast up. I am on clexane 60, prednisone, feldene, sandrena gel, trental, nitrodur patches, ethinyl oestrogen, prognoynva vaginally and orally, aspirin, fish oil, folic acid, berocca, zinc. Start adding provera and progesterone pessaries to the mix tomorrow leading up to transfer. Feeling like a walking dispensery at the moment!

Now time to book flights.. accomodation... car hire. I will be leaving my almost 2 yr old with my parents...so will have probably 3 nights in Cape Town this time....make it a nice restful getaway and hope little embie stays put.

Look forward to meeting up with anyone else over there next week... I will be there Wed 18th - Sat 21st .

@kylie764 Yesterday my lining was 6.4mm and my cycle has been cancelled. Unfortunately I won't be able to meet up with you in CT next weekend after all. Wishing you the very best for your transfer.
