Default Egg Donation in South Africa #13

Hi ladies, I'm interested in your thoughts here! Hopefully I'm not being insensitive to those still on their journey. I've got 8 days till predicted d day, so it could be the hormones. But I'm wild and at my mum for casually saying today she will be quite an "expensive baby" meaning the cost of getting here Ivf etc. Firstly she has no idea of the cost it's nothing we have ever shared and secondly it's none of her business . I'm not sure why I'm having such an ott reaction, since I'm still stewing on it at 1:30 am I thought I'd ask !!! Would you be offended or is it reasonable? I just think it's the choice we made and cost has nothing to do with it and I don't want my baby tagged even burdened with that before she's even here ...

8 days, wow @ferngirl!! I can't believe my poster girl for successful single transfers will be holding her 'expensive baby' in her arms next week. Beautiful. I can't wait to see a pic of fernbaby.
Yeah hun, it sounds like a mix of exhausted hormones and a mum who didn't think that comment through before opening her mouth. Expensive = damn hard fought for in every single way imaginable. Nobody outside of IVF can come close to understanding, even those closest to us. You're damn right she's expensive...and LOVED and TREASURED beyond all measure.
Once fernbaby is in the outside word, in your arms, in your mums arms, the journey will melt away and she'll just become 'Eliza' for eg. And you guys will be so focused on the little joy that she is and getting to know her that all the pre her being born stuff will melt away.
Is there any way to breath this anger and hurt out and bring the focus back on enjoying the last 8 days of fernbaby being in your tummy, just you and her. The last days of her being ONLY yours are incredibly special.
    Huge sympathetic hugs hun, .

So I just heard about some other additional treatments that might be helpful, embryoscope and embryo glue! They seems worth looking into. And yet I haven't been told yet about any additional treatments I might get at CFC. Anything else I should know about???
Hopefully this is just because I won't receive my treatment plan until my donor is screened on the 17th.

@Petulia Apparently they're having higher success rates with Embryoscope ($450 - book as soon as you know you want to do it as there's limited slots available & have it confirmed in writing from your FN) and embryo glue is standard in all of their transfers. xx

Thanks for the heads up on the embryoscope, I have writted to my FN and advised her

Yesterday I went and saw a nutrionalist who specializes in fertility and MTHFR, she has a 92% success rate. She doesnt advertise so I only found her via word of mouth and it took 3 months to get in. She was great I am MTHFR and now have a complete plan to deal with it, that no one else has even been able to do other than tell me to use Folate or folinic acid and the correct form of B12. Hopefully with these changes I can improve my chances for a successful DE cycle, if not I have another way to move forward as that is what I need options, I am not ready to give up.

If you are in Adelaide look at www.perfectlynatural.com.au , she only does appointments with people in person but it was finally good to talk to someone who knows about MTHFR and uses different treatments dependant on the mutation.

I've officially reached the 35.5 week mark today - the average gestation for twins. Just under two weeks to go now. Bring it on I say ! This thing is hefty.

I'm in Vic so wouldn't be able to see her. I have the hetero A1298C mutation. What kind of things does she advise?
