Hey all, hope your all well. Just checking in for a chat! Dh and I are scoping out the possibility of doing the august cycle, we did decide not to but not we are wanting to try again lol although I'm worried as they have put me on 325 of gonal f and no bt toll day 7. Is this normal? I'm worried I'll have the opposite effect to the menopur! Eek do you ladies get more nervous with each round you do?

@OneOfTheseDays your strategy beats mine by 5 days LOL! Those two lines will be there for you - dark and glorious!

I'm such a sucker for POAS and it's funny reading everyone's comments because I thought it was just me being silly! Like you @tjuls, a BFN always crushes my world and takes me a few days to emotionally move on to the next cycle. I bet it's third time FET lucky hun!!

Good luck for your scan tomorrow @Lilpingu 😚

Yes I did @hopefulangel1987 😊.. called them at lunchtime today. 1st BT next Fri at cd10
Good luck with ur scan today @Lilpingu.
It's a good sign if the bleeding has stopped. Used to work with a lady who had massive bleeds at work when she was pregnant- ambulance got called, went to ER. She and bub was all fine though. Happened again when she had the 2nd kid. Docs never knew where the bleeds were coming from but both babies came out all healthy.
I hope the scare is over so u can enjoy the pregnancy

@smilebabynumberone I am so sorry that you are coming up with a bfn. I agree that it is so hard to think I'm healthy and fine but it is just not working when other people are not and get pregnant at a drop of a hat but unfortunately that is just the way. I am sending hugs and positive thoughts your way.

I have been so busy with work recently so have been reading but sorry not many personal responses but just hope you are all feeling well and baby dust to all.

Afm - just had my GP appointment, in and out so quick although in 6 months my dh morphology had improved 3%! I was very proud of him! So I begged for a fs and nurse appointment next week to get onto next cycle and they said no there wasn't anything so I booked later knowing I would miss another cycle. Then I got a phone call and they are squeezing me in next Tuesday meaning I will be stimming from the following week! So excited I burst into tears in the shopping centre!!!

Anyways have a positive day everyone. 😁

    Hey everyone,

So sorry that I have been MIA - my parents are in town. Gosh! Can I say it's been an intense week. I only managed to check in this morning because I booked them to go on a whale watching trip so that I can get some reprieve from them! haha! Doesn't help that my part-time course has started again, so it's plenty of studying as well.

Going to try my best to do some personals:

@onedaymaybebaby - congrats on the scan, that looks awesome! Sorry for the late reply, but do make an appointment to see the FS after the scan. I saw Dr SG 1 week after my scan to ask her for a referral to my OB. But that was it, in and out of there in 5 mins. She told me that Primary nurses will call and check on me, but they never did. So it seems like that's the end of my relationship with Primary for now. If you are not going with a private OB, she will give you referrals for the week 9 scan and the week 12 NT scan. You will also need to go to your GP to work out antenatal care. It will help to get all the BT and scan results from the FS so that you don't have to re-do them. Basically, Primary's work is done with the BFP and now you are going to have to manage the pregnancy just like any other.

@Lilpingu - that's such a scare! But glad to know everything has stabilised now. I read somewhere that it's common for IVF pregnancies to have bleeds and babies still turn out fine. Think the IVF process makes us more prone to irritations and bleeds or something like that. Do update us! Sending you lots of hugs!

@Mimimoo - so sorry to hear about the drama hun Sucks big time. I really hope that your endo and cysts behave soon! Sorry to hear about your experience at Primary - I agree that they aren't the best when it comes to explaining situations.

@tjuls - yay to AF arriving (nay to bfn), sending you lots of baby dust and hugs! I hope this cycle is IT!!!!

@smilebabynumberone - sorry to hear about the news. It's the worst feeling ever. Sending you lots of hugs! Treat yourself well and give yourself time to deal with it - I know you will come back fighting. We all have the same feeling, it's unfair and it sucks - rant away and we will be here for you. Do you have any frosties for a FET?

@hopefulangel1987 - 5 grade 1s! WOW, that's fantastic. First BT for FET is usually CD9 or 10 I think because they are tracking ovulation. Hope this upcoming cycle works out well for you!

@LillyM - how did your wtf appointment go? Did you manage to wrangle any answers out of Dr SG?

@Lbaines101 - YAYYYYYYYY to starting, finally! So happy for you hun! Looking good to ace this! Congrats on jumping over all the huddles, can't wait for you to share your journey!

    Oh, I forgot to add,

@onedaymaybebaby and @Lilpingu - it's very common to have EDD adjusted forwards and backwards. The EDD is originally based on LMP and HCG levels (so with the ET date, they can estimate EDD), but it gets adjusted based on size of bub as bub grows. There's a formula they use so at every scan, it may be a little different. My OB says to just go with the initial estimation because it's way too early as bub will continue to grow - some babies grow faster and some babies catch up in size later. As long as it is within plus minus 7 days, I think it's fine. If it's more than 7-9 days, I think usually the docs get concerned and will monitor more closely.

Oh, and I just checked my medicare claim history. Remember that convo we had about @StephyG's costs? Apparently at Primary, this was what I got bulk billed for:
    - GP: $145.80
    - EPU: $422.65
    - ET procedure: $94.45
    - Pathology: $638.70
    - FS (1 stim, ET cancelled and 1 FET cycle): $4,035.15
    - Scans: $150.35

So altogether, Primary bulk billed about $5,500, and then there were some out of pocket stuff like $100+ for stim meds at subsidised rates and $600 for EPU surgery. So all in all, it's over $6,000, which makes @StephyG's cost look about the same.

Just thought I might share if anyone is curious.

    As for me,

I finally made it to 12 weeks - I brought forward my scan because I had some cramps and was worried so I went to see my OB at the very last minute yesterday. The wait to 12 weeks was AGONISING!!!

Hope you ladies don't mind me sharing this u/s pic at 12 weeks (hoping it works). And you know what, we will ALL get to that stage and cuddle our babies in our arms. If it can happen to me with all my previous dramas, it can happen to ANYONE, including everyone on this thread.

I am feeling a bit relieved, but the anxiety never goes away I guess.

I skipped the NT scan and went for a harmony BT instead to check for risks of genetic abnormalities. The harmony test was a lot more expensive at $450, but it's more accurate than the NT scan and we got to find out the sex of the baby too!

Everything came back low risk and we are having a............ BOY!!!

Thank you @VickyP for the VERY comprehensive breakdown of the cost of ivf at Primary.
It's amazing that they provide the same ( or should I say.. basic service) as the other clinics and yet we are only out of pocket $900 per stim cycle.

Congratulations on ur baby boy hun! He looks adorable !!
Very happy to have reached the 12weeks milestone :miliedance:
