    I too am a patient of Wazza's and have been flying back n forth from Perth for Brissy to see him. He is very direct and to the point and after a few failed cycles, at 39, he suggested the DE route. I am now going down this route... With him overseeing my overseas cycles. Message me if you want any more info... Or even meet for a coffee as I too am in Perth. Unfortunately waz will tell you 46 is not going to end well using yr own eggs and virtually no chance of pregnancy.. However with DE.: you will have up to a 50% chance. The choice of DE would have been easier for me.. Though I did get there in the end.. If I hadn't already had a biological child.. Conceived at 37. Good luck

    @MamaKes Yay for doubling!!!
    @Rhino welcome!!! Dont listen to the naysayers! If u think about it lots and lots of people are mums at 46 (maybe not wiyh new borns but still running around after their kids) Also in a way, your actual age doesnt always correspond to your "health" age, iykwim, like if you smoke your body would be 'older' than your actual age, so if you're healthy n up for it- i reckon go for it. Sounds crazy but in a way, i wish i was 46 so making the donor egg decision was easier. Im 36 and have been told i have poor eggs quality, poor responder etc... so my body and my eggs behave like im 46 anyway!!! So if i was actually older, it would be easier to give up on my own eggs. I was able to make an appointment with charlotte mooring sooner than wazza and the receptionists promised me seeing her is the same as wazza as they work together and she follows his way of working and consults with him. I havent been there yet but like you, im not local, not as far away as pwrth but i gotta drive 400km to even get to a bloody airport to fly to brisbane. Whatever you decide, i wish you all the best. There's good threads to read about overseas and donor ivf (full of quick n easy bfp's after years and years of OE IVF) They helped me to begin to consider other options and transition through the hardest decisions ive ever been faced with. xox

    Welcome @Rhino. I read today that Jennifer Lopez is having her first at 49 and I think people are starting to get used to women having babies up to 50. If it is right for you then go for it. I find very few people understand the pain of infertility, but they'll tell you they do!

    I too think Wazza will suggest DEs. I've asked him about us older girls using OE and whilst he has had some success with women 42-45, they invariably have a higher egg reserve. I have PCOS and over 7 cycles have produced 100 eggs, 3 of which have been PGD normals... Wazza has told me about one patient in his career who had a bub in her late 40s, but she'd had other children naturally well into her 40s - the prior bub 12 months prior to cycling with him (and I think it took 6 cycles).

    Have you you had a look at the over 40s thread here on bubhub also? Lots of experience and expertise on that thread and a lovely group of ladies.
