The strips never worked for me, but you can get a saliva tester (Maybe Baby) which will tell you. Cervical mucous is also a very good indicator.

Also, trying for a year with no result is enough to get a GP referral to a specialist. They can do additional blood work etc to make sure there isn't something else going on. You mention you're underweight, have you had your thyroid checked?
Nope, I haven't had my thyroid checked. But now I'm gaining weight. Yes, I think I really should go to the doctor so I might know what's the underlying cause of me not getting pregnant.

I just assumed. Well I think it's better for me to go to the doctor.

I had and irregular cycle and went to the gp and was diagnosed with pcos, however we threw in a sperm test and it came back that my partner had an extremely low count and that's why we couldn't get pregnant.
Then I think we should go to the fertility specialist together.

They will also do tests but it all takes time as its specific to your cycle dates and it may be months before you can get an appt to see a specialist.

So book an appt and test and track ovulation data while you wait.

It could just be bad luck and no major problem. I have irregular periods with no PCOS etc and have had 2 successful pregnancies. Good luck!
Wow thank you! What you've said gave me hope. I already download fertility friend on my phone to track everything that might help me to know when is my ovulation and everything. And also I'm planning to go to the doctor to check me because we really want to have a baby. It's really devasted seeing my husband being disappointed everytime I had my PT checked and get negative results.

Default Same thing happening to me...

Hi, I'm 26 also ttc for 3months.first time I was monitoring my ov but couldn't catch it but we did the deed.i thought I was pregnant but my periods came early very heavy with clots .😞😞
second month I bought those ov strips from eBay. They worked for me I was monitoring ov but noticed never got positive result the line never got dark, same day I run to Coles and bought that clearblue ov kit. Same thing happened even the expensive clear blue kit didn't cought my surge.😞😞 but we were having unprotected sex.
Second month my periods were not that heavy.,Which was relief. after my periods I knew I had to do something so I was walking a lot. changed my diet. I was eating healthy, started taking Macca powder smoothie and vitamins.
in third month I knew I will be ov soon.I started testing with that cheap eBay ones.third time I changed the time of the tests. According to my cycle my ov period was 3rd-9th but got positive on 10th in the evening😳. So started having sex when I got positive ov test. i was so happy.i finally cought it.πŸ˜€πŸ˜€
Good thing my husband was home for his beak.
Now after a week im having some symptoms my Breast is heavy my nipple pain,
my Vg is always wet and bit itchy, peeing a lot couldn't sleep, feeling tired craving food and don't wana have sexπŸ˜’πŸ˜’at all.
I don't know if they are pregnancy symptoms or period Are approaching but they are not due for a week.
Just hoping for the best the best.

Your symptoms sound like you could have PCOS. You may be like me and not actually ovulating each cycle, either.

It took DH and I 3.5yrs to conceive our little one - who is now 5 weeks old!

I would recommend maybe tracking your BBT. On both temping and OPKs you'll likely get false positives, as your body attempts to ovulate. But at least with temping you'll be able to see if you have actually ovulated or not, better than OPKs.

Since you've been trying for a year, you should go and get yourself and your DH checked out. Maybe a fertility clinic or a gyno. Best to check yourself and your DH's little men so you know exactly what potential hurdles need to be overcome. You could be lucky and just need a cycle of ovulation indiction to help you get your take home bub.

Don't lose hope. Wishing you the best.

    Hi There,

You are NOT alone here! it is far more difficult to track your ovulation especially when you are not regular. The best thing to do is see your GP or fertility clinic and do blood test so they can track when you should be trying to conceive.

Also some months you will not release an egg so we have been told you only hae about 14-18 hours window depending on your body...

Also it is a good idea to download a period tracker so it will tell you quite accurately when you would be ovulating and work on it

First thing is to check your and partners health (thyroid, digestion, ovaries, uterus and sperm test for your partner)

Once you done the test then you can be sure you don't have any underlying issue that will prevent you from ability to conceive.

You will be surprised how many people that I got to know are having the same issues and seeking specialized help from fertility clinic

We were in similar situation and after trying for almost a year we went to fertility clinic for a thorough check and found out that what what is ok and what is not...
    best of luck
