When I was a pre teen Joel was going to be my future son's name.
It's not...but I do know a kid called Joel...his name is not being used against him in the playground 😁

    I think it's pretty 80's/90's.
    But it's ok.

I like it. I actually suggested it to DH as a potential name a long time ago, but he went to school with a Joel & didn't like him so he said no.

I like it. One of my cousins named her boy Joel.

It was a popular name when I was born. There were a few boys named Joel at my high school back in the day. Doesn't seem as popular now, which adds to the appeal for me.

I think of it as a 'naughty boy' name. 😳😂

My brother has a super dorky friend called Joel and I also think of Joel Madden. So it has negative connotations for me personally, but I like it is an 80/90s name and normal but not common - normal but not common were our criteria for a boys name.

    We went with Albert.

If you like it then use it. Why does it matter what the family think? Their opinion isn't relevant.
