Depends on how hard you push and how the doctor feels. They used to be more free about it but now it's very frowned upon and you normally have to push hard.

It doesn't double your chances though. Think about what your limiting factor is, embryos or cycles? My sister out two back because I could give her as many embryos as she wanted, but physically she was over IVF and couldn't take much more (she had been at it a while). Never got two implanted anyway.

But for some they don't have many embryos. In that case they're better off giving each embryo a chance. What if it's the lining that's dodgy or your body just won't accept pregnancy that month... That's two embryos wasted instead of 1.

The Springwood fertility centre works under the authority of QFG. They have an ethics policy that is pretty stringent with regards to number of embryos transferred. (Hence why you were told 1)
At 28 you definitely won't fit their age criteria but after three failed cycles you may fit their treatment response criteria.
If I was you, I'd be asking the question, it certainly can't hurt and the worst response will be a no.

I was 35 at Qfg Gold Coast and I think they indicated more like 5 cycles roughly before doubles would be allowed. But I never got there, worked first go.

A double transfer increases the chance of a bfp but not a take home baby.

Default Can we transfer more than 1 embryo.?

I was 34 at QFG in SouthBank and in my third cycle- a fresh cycle (I had done one fresh and one frozen before). On the cycle I got pregnant from I only had two follicles (poor response to stimulation) Both of these developed into 5 day blastocysts. Given my age, the fact it was my third cycle and my poor response to stim, I asked for both to be put back and my FS had no problem doing so.

ETA only one embryo survived and I have a 3 year old daughter from this cycke

TFC are very reluctant to do so. I was able to on my third cycle but it wasn't even open for discussion on my fourth. You may have noticed the signs they have in all the rooms. There are so many factors involved not just the number of cycles you have done. Of course, there's no harm in asking but just go in knowing your request may be declined.

Hi @HerxShe I have put back two embryos this cycle and so far it is BFP. It was my fourth cycle and I didn't have to push very hard for it but I did have to sign a waiver. If I had a known fertility issue I wouldn't put back two but as far as I and my specialist are aware I don't, so I felt good about putting two back.

Thank You all for your responses. The nurse did show me the sign in one of the rooms when i went in. I have to be atleast 30 years old and atleast 3 failed cycles before they will transfer more than 1 so it was a No. Just thought after 3 failed FETs they might be more lenient but oh-well. We'll see how my frozen cycle goes. Thank you again for all your replies.

I think it's three whole cycles. So transfer everything from first cycle, transfer everything from second cycle and transfer everything from third before they look at it. I think I was on about the 6 or 7th cycle before I transferred all. Around my 10th FET for second baby.,
