That reminds me I have to take in my marriage certificate to them ... Went to get the code to link my mygov account the other day but they couldn't do it as I had a centrelink back when I was at uni. Always a nightmare dealing with it all!!

oh really... centrelink is in cockburn and medicare is in booragoon for me... might try medicare tomorrow and see if I can get it started as they have been so helpful there... then if not go to centrelink on the way to some appointment tomorrow if that doesn't work... I want it sorted so once she is born my partner can go register her birth and then we can get the ball rolling... I will ask to back date it to now too since I am not working... hopefully its an easy process

Ttc1981 it can be a nightmare but they will bck pay you i got my first payment about 4 weeks after my son was born my friend didnt get hers for 9 weeks after birth of baby. Complete all paperwork i just did mine online when baby is born take the proof of birth into centrelink and they will get it happening usually after a few heated phone calls. I hope they are better with it now

Thanks I just want it based on the fact I'm not working and if go back earlier then least it starts from when I'm actually off! We didn't think we would be able to get it but as I said to my partner it will come in handy even though I am getting paid from my work (I have so many holidays it's ridiculous when you own your own business you never take them all) but the cost so far and the costs to come if she is prem will be quite a lot so we are just going to put the money away and use it up as we need it now I just need a Centrelink number and I'm sorted! I will go in today at tugs suggested and just do it all there and then

Medicare if it's not a joint place won't be able to help you. You can lodge it up to 3 months before due date though, I lodged mine ages ago just to be safe. They won't start paying until proof of birth though so you can't get it early. And I'm not sure but I think you can't receive it while you're being paid by your employer, but they can confirm that.

Hi All! Long time no speak...have been reading along, but life has been a little crazy lately!
Have been trying to finish our house reno's to sell/rent and that as you can imagine has meant huge weekends- but all seems to be on track, and now we just need to move out (have been living in two house for the past couple of years .....)this weekend for the new renters to move in....so that's going to be super fun too!! At least we will be all in the one place fort he first time in years....can't actually wait to be able to sit down and put my feet up on a weekend....well only for the next couple of weekends anyway!
@ttc1981- God you've had a bit of a rough trot lovely! Hoping your little one stays put as long as possible....I had a bit of a scare with one of my scans coming back and telling me that I had low levels of amniotic fluid with both babies- so had to keep my fluids and electrolytes up (felt like a water fountain for a while)....then my OB booked me in for a specialist scan to double check, but all was ok (the initial sonographer had used the wrong method of measurement for twins- four quadrant AFI vs Single deepest pocket) so specialist sonographer has recommended I see him everytime now, which I think is great, as it doesn't cost me a cent (was costing around $370 per scan) and I know I'm getting the right info! And he's so quick - 20 mins vs an hour and a half lying flat on back- big difference in back pain once I stand up!

Back pain, pelvic pain and sciatica are really taking their toll on me lately- sleeping is a challenge as is just about everything else! Have invested in a 'snoogle' pillow and that has helped a heap, and am thinking I might invest in an 'Upsie Belly' next- as was recommended by one of the ladies on the twin forum to help with back pain etc

And good ole heartburn!! Currently living on Quickeze...nothing else seems to give me any relief!

Heading off on Mat leave next Friday, so hoping to get my hospital bag packed then, the nursery set up and all those final little things before I head across a little closer to the hospital for the last couple of weeks prior to booked in C section on 20th July....nothing like leaving things to the last minute!! I am so envious of you girls that are super organized!!

    Take care all xo
