    hello ladies,

gosh it sounds like we're all having a bit of a full on time at the moment! Is this mid-pregnancy crisis, do you think? hopefully it will all get a bit more manageable before we start to get too big!
@ttc1981, i've been experiencing pelvic pain too for the last month or so, or symphysis pubic dysfuntion. I've been seeing a specialist physio, which has helped to some extent, but currently my job is quite physical so the pain has worsened, and so today she put me in a pelvic support belt, gave me an ice pack for my pubic bone area, which is currently down my undies, and crutches to walk around with when it's particularly bad. and here's the crazy part - my DH is currently also on crutches due to a massive knee reconstruction op he had last week. you should see the pair of us! thank god it's funny, otherwise i might cry!

had my check in with the ob/midwife ten days ago. I'd put on 2kg in the last month, and the midwife was like 'why do you think you've put on so much weight? are you eating too much sugar?' and I was like 'erm, you try keeping the weight down when you can barely walk!' I can't wait to see her face when I go in there on Thursday with crutches!

as regards gender, i wanted a surprise, but DH wanted to know, he felt it would help him bond with the bump if he could start to personify it a little bit, and I was all for that - after all the ivf stuff, i felt like I was so much further down the line psychologically than he was, so anything to help him along would be good. i'm glad I know now, too. i think i secretly wanted a girl but had mentally prepped myself for a boy. i don't think we'll have another one after this (too old, ivf too hard), so either way, this is our baby, this is our family!

2kg in a month is hardly awful esp when you're injured. I'd like to see her do better. How much have you put on total so far? They say under 12kg is ideal.
My people haven't mentioned weight once yet thankfully. I get weighed every appt which is fortnightly now.
Well, she laughed when my weight was identical to last appt then she did my bp and that was identical too. But they haven't commented on it medically.

Hey Hermia... They put me in the belt today! Oh my god the pressure but it helped relieve the pressure... All back again now as I took it off... Thankfully it's only when I walk not sit or lie... I'm at a women's health Physio as well and she has been great... I'm 4 days in and it's killing me... You poor thing with a physical job and this I just can't imagine!
Well off to the OB tomorrow hopefully our little thumper (as we call her as she doesn't stop kicking the crap of me) has gained weight and it back up the scale again!

Feeling loads of empathy for you all with pelvic pain ... I've had PGP since 19 weeks!! The belt was really good in the beginning but now that I'm bigger (read: hippo sized hehe) it is really uncomfortable... Also bubs really started not liking it. She would kick and wriggle like crazy when I put it on - take it off and she'd go back to normal wriggling. I've just had to take things really easy - walk when I can (which honestly is rarely), no lifting, pretty much just being a potato :-(

I think the fact that I pretty much do nothing has helped me avoid any excessive pain. I'm already on a lifting and exercise ban so I've been super lazy it's great haha

Woof I feel so sorry for you... It's been less than a week and I'm hating it... I can't wear the belt I tried yesterday but she hated it and I felt sick... Have you tried the SRC compression pants?
I know 2 months we are set for 38 weeks at the moment so just 7 weeks to go
Hopefully today we find out the little one has put on weight...

I haven't tried them but my obs did recommend them ... She was telling me that she wore them throughout her pregnancy and she was really struggling with pubic symphysis pain before then once wearing them she kept up her surgery days so was 36 weeks pregnant and still operating for 10 hour days.

I have a scan on Thursday to see if mine has slowed the weight gain! And hopefully fluid levels have dropped ...

Well I'm on daily monitoring and start steroids tomorrow so sounding like this bubs is coming sooner rather than later... He's hoping to get her to 34 weeks but highly doubts it... She went from 50th percentile to 3rd percentile in 3 weeks on stomach weight... Legs and head have stayed the same so my placenta isn't working how it should. From what I am gathering there hearing me up to have her out soon but hoping the steroids change things
Bit emotional tonight but as long as she is healthy and if she's better out than in its what is meant to be
