    Default First round of IVF

Hi , I'm new here and not sure how this works , so I guess I will tell you a bit about my journey so far.
My partner (26) and myself (23) have just stared our first round of IVF and I'm on 150 in of puregon. I had my u/s today and I have 32 folicals 24 of them being bigger than 22 mm so I'm pretty happy with that haha , I have egg collection on monay and I'm hoping for the best. I guess I would like to hear other peoples ivf journey's

    Hi @Xxsmileyxx93

That is a lot of follicles. Has your clinic discussed the risk of OHSS after egg collection with you? With that many follicles you will be considered a pretty high risk I would think. There are things you can do to minimise the risk, such as drinking at least 3L of fluid a day (including at least 1L of Gatorade or Hydralyte, things like that), upping your protein intake and making sure you don't lie flat, even to sleep. Not trying to worry you, just letting you know. I got moderate OHSS on my first round of IVF when I had just over 20 follicles.

Good luck for your egg collection on Monday. There's a thread for ladies doing IVF in April here, come over and join us if you like :

    Hi op
I had my first round cancelled because I had 33 ish follicles and not all were even mature.
Are they not cancelling you? Or did they say they would collect and do a freeze all cycle?
I'm switching clinics because I believe mine were too cautious when I only had about 15 mature enough at the time. But I have pcos too so they said no.

Good luck please keep us posted o how you go I'm really interested xx

They are freezing all of mine but most of mine are mature so they aren't cancelling it , they are collecting them on monday.
I'm sorry about them cancelling yours and I hope you have better luck at your new clinic. Keep me posted about how you get on with yours ☺

That's awesome you will have so many to freeze. Let me know how they go fertilising.
I'm hoping to try again in May or June.. Whenever af decides to show up again!

Hi all, New to this site too and stumbled across while doing some research, I have been on here reading lots for the past 4 hours 😜 Been TTC for 18mths and no luck. Had diagnosis of endometriosis this week after having laparoscopy last week. Also unlucky I don't produce progesterone, have under active thyroid, glandular fever and hashimotos! Will be picking up drugs in two weeks time to start IVF, nervous but eager and ready after reading many stories. I look forward to reading about everyone's journeys and hoping we all have short successful cycles!

If it's ok I might too have a look at the April thread, always good to have support and share thoughts while we are all in the IVF cycles together :-)
