    I paid an extra $1000 for my dogs. Same as you no rental history.
    They looked at the pics from my house for sale on real estate.com to see how I lived etc
    And landlords were happy with that+ the pet bond.

    (I paid 1.5 month rent for my bond)

    Yes, something like this ^^^ The money is held in trust by the government and you will (all going well) get it back, so it's up to how much you feel. I think 1.5 - 2 months rent is reasonable.

    I also referenced our sold property on real estate . Com so they could see photos of how tidy when we applied for rentals. We had a dog too.
    This is what we did and it helped enormously.
