Default Any primary teachers able to help me out with a couple of questions re assessment?

    Hi ladies,

Hoping someone wouldn't mind answering a couple of questions about assessment in early primary? I thought I had enough info for an assignment but seem to be a little short in these areas! I realise the answers can be quite extensive so just a couple of brief examples would be great.

    * Specific examples of types of assessment used in early childhood? IE PIPS etc
    * What information is collected at the beginning of the school year and then throughout the year?

    Thanks!

In NSW public schools they do the best start assessment in the first few weeks of the first year of school.

If you google "best start assessment" lots of stuff will come up.

Also, in NSW public schools they have to submit the children's data (or progress) according to the literacy and numeracy continuums every 5 weeks and the teacher the next year can just print out each child's data so they know where they are at.
