    Default How often do you..

How often do you take antibiotics? As in, how many times have you taken them in the past 12 months? 5 years?
    What about your your child/ren?

I haven't had anti-biotics in the last 5 years. Trying to remember the last time actually. DS2 has never had them, he's 3.5. DH has had them twice in the last 5 years, most recently about 2 years ago.

    Why?

Last time I took them was 7yrs ago when I had a UTI during pregnancy.
My DD1 has had them once in ICU (so via drip) and DD2 has never had them.
I usually go with Dr recommendations. We seem to get more viral illnesses than bacterial which is probably why we haven't had many antibiotics, I am in no way against them.

My former GP used to prescribe them for everything, so we'd both take them fairly regularly. I've been seeing a new, and in my opinion far better, GP for coming up to two years and I have taken them once for a dog bite and my DS hasn't needed them so far in that time

Last year I had some unknown infection in my throat that they tried various antibiotics on. Other than that maybe once a year?

I can't remember the last time I took them.

Can't remember the last time my 7 and 5 year old took them either.

My 3 year old has had antibiotics twice in her life.

Me - maybe once every 2-3 years? I don't get sick often, thankfully.

My 5 year old DS has never had them.

The last time I took ABX was when I was in Africa taking doxycycline as an antimalarial. So that was almost 10 years ago. DS has had 2 courses in his 2.5 years - he's extremely prone to bacterial tonsillitis unfortunately.

I had them when I had a uterine infection after my daughter was born - about 12 months ago. She's never had them. My son had a couple of doses when they thought his hand foot and mouth was a staph infection- about 3 years ago. I can't remember when my husband last had them

Last time I had antibiotics prescribed by a GP was about 6 years ago. I did have strep b antibiotics when I was induced to have DD 2 years ago.

DD has had them once for a UTI infection about a year ago.

DH hasn't had antibiotics prescribed for from a GP in 10 years.
