    Default Hold times

Come and let me share my frustration...

I'm currently 2 hours and 10 minutes on hold with Centrelink... and counting.
Ok yes admittedly there was a 15 min convo in there with one department, then a 30 second chat to someone to transfer me to yet another department, but FFS. 2 hours.

What's the longest you've been on hold for? And with who?

2 hours and 31 minutes and counting...

    I'm getting irritable.

I need to go out and do groceries before school pick up.
Can't do that when I'm on the phone...

Wow so no one else has been on hold for a long time. Maybe it's just me!

Finally finished my phonecall after 3 hours and 25 minutes.

That's a hell of a long time - quite an unreasonable time frame if you ask me.

I don't recall ever being on hold that long.

I remember trying to call Australia Post's call centre years ago (my printed wedding invitations had gone astray in the mail) and I remember the wait times were dreadful.

    Default Hold times

My record phone time was with Centrelink, 2 hours total. I always put it on speaker, put it in my pocket and get on with stuff around the house. It ends up being quite productive!

Edit: that included talking to someone half way through, transfer then hold again for a long time and finally speaking to the second person.

I only have a mobile too- prepaid.... So you can imagine the expense!!
I was on hold once for over an hour to cancel foxtel- I gave up and rang and asked for sales- low and behold they answered straight away!!!
Dh had a dreadful time trying to contact HSBC to cancel his card. He waited once for over 3 hours. They never answered. In the end he did my trick- asked for activations and got straight through

Centreline really have become a new level of dreadful. Staff have been slashed and they want us to do everything online but it's not always easy or straightforward. Not sure who we can complain to or whether we can actually do anything about it- it's not like we can take our business elsewhere.
