    Default QFG and IVF Payment

    Hi

After our last disaster of a full ivf cycle we need to try again. This will be a full cycle but the problem is our funds are low due to previous attempts.

Has anyone cycled with QFG and only paid the gap between Medicare and QFG?

Unfortunately a low cost clinic is out of the question as we are using donor sperm. Looking at these clinics they don't use donor sperm.

    Any info would be appreciated.

I think you would have to speak to them specifically to find out. I'm sure they have payment plans of sort. I don't think you can just pay the gap fee. You would have to pay the full amount then claim from Medicare. In saying that, I'm no expert so your best bet is direct to the source.

I know it's hard, but can you hold off for a little while to allow some funds to accumulate before starting again? You don't want to completely drain your finances before you even get pregnant. It's tricky though, it's a highly emotive topic this TTC rolllercoaster. I'm riding it at the moment so I have some understanding of what you're going through.

My Ob is a FS/OB through QFG and we pay the full fee and then claim Medicare rebate and get it back into our account.

Do you have a particular FS you are seeing? They will probably all have their own fees and way of doing things. You can request a fee schedule plus discuss the process with them.

I am with QFG and just pay the gap. You get a 5% discount if you pay up front but this is our third go so will just be paying the gap. Works out about $5800.

Thank you everyone for your reply.

We are doing a final give it everything cycle with Warren De Ambrosis later in the year. Had our initial appointment last month. We are currently with QFG but under a different specialist.

Might give the clinic a call and ask the question. Otherwise we will just keep saving saving saving to go again.
