    Default 4am wake ups!

My DS2 is 10 months. He will go to bed at 6.30pm (I've tried to push this back but it doesn't work) He is an okay sleeper. Some nights he will wake up twice.
What I can't seem to shake is the 4am wake ups! He has been waking at 4am since day one. I thought he would grow out of it after I took away night feeds but it is just the same. He wakes at 4am ready for the day, not waking crying but waking talking. Very rarely he will sleep until 5am but 4am is the norm. I feel like I've tried everything. By the time I let him cry it out and he finally will fall back asleep its 5am and the rest of the family gets up. If I can get him waking at 5am, I will be ecstatic.
Any tricks that I'm missing to get him to sleep a little longer?

Please note.. I don't pick him up and get him out of bed. I only change him if he has done a poo.

My DS was exactly the same, even after I cut the night feeds he'd still wake at 4am every.single.morning 😵

I tried everything I could think of but thankfully around 13months he grew out of it and now regularly sleeps till 6:15am, we still have the occasional nights where he wakes but on the whole he sleeps pretty well now.
Sorry I don't have any advice but hang in there it does get easier

4am is generally when the temp drops - he's not waking cold is he? I'm about to increase the thickness of my LO's sleeping bag because i suspect this is the reason for his 4am wakes of late.

Agree with this - we have just put a heater in my 3yos room because she was starting to wake at 4am.

Temp is a funny thing with DS2 as well. He is always hot and I mean really hot. I will have his fan on max without any blankets on him and before I go to bed I will turn his fan down, no more then 10 minutes later he will wake up sweating. I've tried a light sleeping bag with his fan on max and he is still too hot. He has always been really hot, this hasn't just happened recently. He doesn't have a temperature, trust me I always check. My DH is the same, sweats all night!!! Whereas, I will always sleep with a doona so naturally I suspect DS2 will be cold. Around 2am - 4am his thighs will be cold but the top of his body will still be really hot so I sneaky put a blanket on his legs and that usually gets him through until he wakes up for the day.

My daughter is a hot child too. I am a cold person, so would need hubbies advice on whether to pull up blankets or not. Hubby is a hot person too. My child went through a stint of waking at 4:30am it was fun. Not. but two things helped. One giving her the night feed at 2am or 3am + nappy change = content to go back to sleep till 6am. And 2 age eventually she started sleeping till 6:30am to this day she wakes early. I do not have a late sleeper.

so since she got here I have been an early riser!. Welcome to the club.
