    Hi Katie,

I'm guessing that you're not getting many responses as they're really personal questions, and many members won't like that much information being posted about them here on an open forum.

Perhaps if you could set up an email account for this topic (then close it when you're done so you don't get spammed for years) that members could send a confidential email to, you might get more responses?

    Best of luck.

1: At what age were you pregnant?

18- so maybe older than you needed?

2: After your child's birth did you go back to school?

Yes. I had finished my first semester uni just before baby was born (36 weeks during exams) and went back to finish the degree about a year and a half later.

3: Where did you seek support

Parents mainly. Then friends and the father. No formal support (counselling etc) was sought apart from regulation GP/hospital appointments.

4: Did the father stay and support?

Yes. We have now been married 11 years.

5: Have you ever tried contraception before?

    I had but wasn't a fan.

6: Did you ever think about abortion?

Nope. This ties into answer below- no forward thinking. I was a head in the sand, ignore things are happening kind of person.

7: What was your reaction when you found out you were pregnant

Incredibly scared and shocked. I was never someone who thought of long-term or consequences. It was hard to have that forced on me.

8: Did you receive financial aid?

Yes, back then there was the baby bonus and I also received parenting payment for approx 6 months to a year, and family tax benefit. I had a health care card for a year or two after baby was born also.

9: Are you/were you planning on going to collage or tafe?

I was enrolled at uni and did the first semester while pregnant. As mentioned above I went back and finished it 2 years later.

10: Do you/did you live with your parents?

Yes I did, and the father moved in with us after the baby was born for about 7 months (until we were married and moved out together).
