@rockalee welcome! I have added you to our April group of cyclers.
With regard to drug doses there seems to be 2 schools of thought on this. One is the more eggs the more chances of a 'good' one. The other is that lower egg numbers = better quality... hence why some FS's go for lower doses of stims. Anecdotally what we have seen on here is that some ladies do better on high, some on low stim doses. It's a trial and error thing about what works for you.
I got good numbers but few blasts at the end of it. My dose was 225 Gonal F. Six cycles in we finally got our BFP.

Welcome rockalee. I am also 40 and a few days behind you. I do my first injection tomorrow and will have my first scan on Friday. It is my first go. I am on different meds though. I do Elonva tomorrow and menopur later in the week.

BFN (on Christmas Eve) of course. I'm on a much higher dose of gonal f this time and seem to be responding better. 4-5 even sized follies at my first scan on Friday. How on earth do you ladies do this month after month after month? I have such admiration for you all. What sort of response do you tend to get? I was told 4-5 is average for my age but obviously was hoping for a much better response this time.

    Welcome @rockalee.....

I reckon 375IU is around the medium dosage when you look at the average that we on this thread as a collective whole have been prescribed.

I've been prescribed anywhere between 225IU-450IU. I seem to have a better response on the lower end of the dosages. Also, FS's have to take into account whether you're PCO/PCOS, a "Poor", "Normal" (which was me) or "High" responder when deciding on what dosages to give.

In addition to (as already mentioned) whether they want to really push the ovaries with a higher dose for egg numbers with the hope of getting a few quality one's among the many or take a more gentle approach with a lower dose to aim for quality over quantity.

Yep...2x2mg's tabs 3x a day Luv and whack a couple of those up your VJay Jay if you feel so inclined

Don't panic about the meds. It wouldn't matter if you couldn't start your stim's until Tuesday anyway. I've started them on Day 3 in the past. Yep, the scratch/flush will be the reason no doubt.

    Everything will be ok Luv

and prayers being sent for a BFFP Cycle!!!!

@Tahli I know you're probably following along from the sidelines while you get your head around having to push back your next Cycle. Mind you, I'm hoping whatever the issue(s) are can be overcome so you can get on with it a lot bloody sooner than that...preferably when you originally wanted to!!

Anyhoo...if not, you're no doubt dealing with conflicting feelings of anger of the "Hulk"-like variety in combination with the hurt of a broken heart Just wanting you to know I'm thinking of you and sending much love and healing vibes your way

Come back when you're ready, we'll all be here waiting to hear from you and help/support you however we canxoxox

welcome @rockalee and good luck for your cycle. 4-5 follies in a leading group sounds great to me. I usually ended up with between 3-8 follies but the leading group was usually 1-3 which tended to match my eggs -> day5 results and the rest were little ones. I think I was on gonal-f 375, 350, 300 over the cycles. the 350-375 seemed to be better quality for me with the 2bfp (cp + mc)

So much happening here! Good luck to everyone starting their cycles this month

I've had a glorious day, painting my nails! DH, meanwhile, is out in the forest chopping and hauling the wood alone. My face is still very dry but no longer feels irritated so I think I'm on the mend, but I didn't want to risk going out again and having another flare-up.

@Tahli, big hugs to you hon. We really are missing you on here and I can't wait to see you back

    Blossom

PS: Doing a roast leg of lamb for tea tonight, with baked potato and pumpkin and peas on the side. So feckin' excited
