Hope everyone's having a nice weekend! I'm laying on the beach at Evans Head & it is glorious! Am here for the weekend with DH, DSS & my family. It's just beautiful & I'm really enjoying it, the only downside is that there are families everywhere & it really hits home how much I want children of my own... My heart just yearns for that, but it's hard to be down on this magnificent day surrounded by family 😊😊😊

I just read this on a facebook page called Angel Gowns and wanted to share it with you ladies. Especially @winsor, @faithandhopellove, @Blossom74. I thought it might hold some relevance for almost every single one of us on here but it is sad, I had a bit of a cry. xo

Somewhere, a mother is peering over a pregnancy test strip, and marveling that her life will never be the same again, as she watches an invisible space fill with the tiniest pink lines appearing.

    She is pregnant!

She looks at herself in the mirror. She rubs her belly. She is so excited and cant wait to tell her partner and family.

Somewhere, too, a doctor’s office is calling a woman, leaving a voicemail for her to return the call. When she does, she will learn that her IVF efforts have resulted in a fertilized egg – that she is pregnant.

Somewhere in Australia, though, a mother is holding her still-flat tummy and consoling herself that cramping is a totally normal part of early pregnancy.

This very minute, a father is at work, somewhere in Australia. His wife is calling him to tell him to come home.

This very minute a new mother is using the restroom, and begins to panic when she wipes and finds blood on her toilet paper.

This very minute, a new mother is sitting with her feet elevated, hoping to stop the blood from coming, and her partner is holding her hand is head in his other.

This very minute, a new mother and father is being told that “these things happen” and to “just expect a period.”

This very minute, new parents are wondering how to tell their children that the baby is dying and they will not have a baby brother or sister any more.

This very minute, a new mother is debating how she will finish her errands for the week, because she doesn’t want to risk being out in public because her body has failed her and soon she will have to birth her baby with no heartbeat which stopped days earlier. She chose to have a natural birth.

This very minute, a new mother wishes the labour and birth would be over, wishing the nightmare would end and she would wake up still happily pregnant.

This very minute, young children are fantasizing over having a little brother or sister, only to learn that their baby is no longer alive.

This very minute, new parents are deciding how they will say goodbye to their baby, while wondering if they will be even given the chance to hold their long awaiting baby. Their dreams and hopes shattered into a million tiny pieces.

This very minute, a new mother is looking online to see why on earth her baby didn't survive and miscarried. Trying to understand what she may have done wrong.

This very minute, an ultrasound technician is shutting off an ultrasound machine with the words “I’m sorry.”

This very minute, a mother is peering into her toilet, feeling so ashamed as she scoops her hand into the cool, red water to see if she can retrieve what she wonders is the physical form of her tiny baby so she may bury the remains beneath a tree.

This very minute, a pregnant mother whose baby has died is sitting in a wheelchair in an Emergency Room, begging for protection over her pregnancy and baby, while watching other people being admitted and cared for first.

This very minute a couple is sitting with their parents, wringing there clasped hands almost purple. Tears rolling down their cheeks as they tell them their unborn grandchild has died. 39 weeks gestation and their baby died.

As you read this, a bereaved Mother and Father are writing a post to all of their friends and family. Our baby died, instead of we would like to announce the safe arrival of our baby, Mother and baby doing well. No they are writing, our baby died and we don't know why.

This very minute, a couple is wondering how they are supposed to plan or pay for a funeral, or what the right kind of farewell is. Or even if they have the right to a funeral because the baby was under 20 weeks gestation.

This very minute, a couple is looking at one another, feeling more alone than they ever have before – but right now, this very minute, they join hundreds of thousands of other couples who are impacted by pregnancy loss every year.

Many Families now know when their baby dies to contact us and prepare the most precious Angel Gown garment for their ever so loved baby who died. They did not expect this when they fell pregnant, they bought a coming home outfit that will never be worn.

They are not alone – but they don’t know that yet.

Every 7 minutes (approximately) a baby is born by miscarriage in Australia.

One baby every 4 hours is stillborn in Australia.

Today, two hundred and five families will be impacted by miscarriage, and six more will be impacted by stillbirth.

Credit to stillbirthday.com in America. (many of the words above are theirs we have altered for Australia and Angel Gowns Australia).

A pregnancy loss is still a birth – is still a birthday.
