    Default Ali express - have you purchased from here before?

    Have you bought things from Ali express before?
    I have been browsing and see some craft things like fabric, elastic and ribbons I like and want to buy.
    It looks like it's all basically from China.
    Did you find the quality ok? How about shipping?

    I've bought some craft supplies from there and was also concerned about the quality. But it's basically the exact same stuff that is sold in shops (like Spotlight/Lincraft), just cutting out the middleman.
    The stuff I bought was fine, but they have something like a million different products on there so there might be a little variation in quality :-p
    And shipping was about the same as anything ordered from ebay or other big online stores.

    They have some stretch silk fabric that is so beautiful. 97% silk and 3% spandex. I ordered 1 m and plan to make a top with it.

    Default Ali express - have you purchased from here before?

    I have bought a bunch of different things from them all reasonably good quality and out of nearly 40 things I didn't receive 3 - all were refunded after I opened disputes on them.

    I've bought our kitchen pendant lights from it and no issues. Well one of the glass panels was broken on delivery but they sent a new one no problems.

    Quality was great. I figure everything we buy is pretty much made in China, there's no reason why quality would be any different ordering direct from China. I guess it just comes with the risk of online purchase that you haven't seen before purchasing.

    That's what I was thinking too. Just about everything is made in China now.
    I suppose the quality issue would be because if you buy here from a reputable retailer you can usually take things back if they are no good or there may have been some QA testing prior.
    If the silk fabric is good I will be so tempted to buy more!

    Yes I bought lots of things on Ali express and been quite happy with them. Got a couple of crappy quality things but I always only buy a small quantity first to see what the quality is like.

    I haven't bought material, but I get some of my stock for my business there and have never had a problem.
