    Default Starting IVF tomorrow!

I am starting my injections for my first IVF cycle tomorrow... I have three naturally conceived children from a previous relationship, and due to scarred tubes from surgery (no other fertility issues) we need IVF. I just wanted to see if anyone out there is going through this as I have no idea what to expect. And IVF is a lonely way to start a pregnancy... Don't want to tell too many people just in case it doesn't work!

Would also love to hear success stories (especially from only 1 cycle) oh and I am 31 yrs old, healthy weight range, and no fertility issues. Hopefully someone out there needs to talk as much as I do!!

On a positive. ..we had success on first cycle! Only collected 4 eggs, 3 fertilised successfully and transferred 2. One didn't progress and one split so we have identical twin girls.
Of course not everyone is lucky first time but i hope it's nice to hear it's possible.

Hi and welcome I'm in my 2ww of my first IVF cycle. In a very similar boat to you but also have PCOS.

I found the part up to egg transfer pretty cruisey but the last week has dragged and I'm expecting the next week will also lol.

Thank you everyone! That was definitely helpful to hear 😊 We just did my first injection - completely sooked out and covered my eyes while my partner did it haha! It was no where near as bad as I was expecting.... Did any of you have any side effects from the injections?

I didn't have any side effects at all. I made sure i drank heaps and heaps of water as suggested. Perhaps that helped. My husband always gave my injections, i couldn't do it. Good luck, look after yourself and be prepared for a longer journey if need be, it really is worth it in the end....as I'm sure you understand.

I haven't even been told to drink extra water... And should I already be taking a pregnancy multivitamin? Yes it's very hard trying to balance between staying hopeful it will work first time round but preparing that it might not.... Ours seems to be such a quick and straight forward cycle compared to others I've researched and I don't know if that's a good thing or not!

Mine was simple too. And yes, i'd be taking at least folate, if not a multivitamin. I did. Folate is very important for bub from conception. I was told three litres of water a day to help with bloating etc that can be a side effect. It seems the opposite but i did it and didn't have any issues. The first round will be a little experimental but for me, even though we had low numbers at egg pick up, it was fine. And i was 39!

I didn't have any side effects from the hormones but then again this helped sort mine out so I actually felt less highly strung for a change.

My DH hates needles so I had to do all mine lol. But I've had steroid shots to develop Bubs lungs before and nothing hurts more than that lol.
