    Default Mri

Has anyone else's child had an MRI?
How did they go with it? Were they sedated?

My daughter had a dye scan on her kidneys. Not sedated but strapped down.

DS has had 2 and a CT. He was sedated for both. The hardest part was the waiting without being able to eat. Have lots of toys, iPad ect.. It's hard watching them come out of the anaesthetic too but wears off pretty quickly and then he slept really well. Hope everything is ok!

My DD has had 4 MRI scans as part of her chemo/cancer treatment, plus 2 PET scans and 2 CT scans. She had to be sedated for the MRIs and PET scans. The MRIs take about 30 - 45 minutes all up and for those the anaesthetic is fairly light so DD always recovers very well from them.

My daughter had an mri when she was 7 months. She was sedated. I think the whole thing from when ai left her in the room was about an hour...longest hour of my life. She came out ok, just a bit dopey, and was fine in an hour or two.

My five year old is booked in for an urgent mri on his brain.
He has an appointment with a play therapist a few hours before hand to decide if he will need to be sedated or not.
    Quietly crapping myself.
