    Default High Risk NT Scan

I am currently 13 weeks & 4 days pregnant with our 3rd baby after trying to conceive for 12 months on Clomid. I have a 7yr old DD and 2yr old DS, both children are healthy. I am 30yrs old and earlier this week got some devastating news after having our NT scan. Baby NT measurement was 4.55mm, also reported was heart abnormality & cystic hygroma. I was sent a day later to see a fetal medicine specialist, where another scan was completed and he performed a CVS on me straight after. It was uncomfortable and more like a intense cramping pain. That was done on Friday, and it is now Sunday. We won't get the first lot of results until Tuesday afternoon. The wait is killing me, and I feel so helpless. I have been given the following risks - 1:11 - Trisomy 21, 1:157 - Trisomy 18, 1:1741 - Trisomy 13. My blood tests that were performed a week before my scan also came back not so good, with the HCG level being high and the PAPP level being low. I've read so many different forums and stories since finding out, and I'm just seeing if anyone has been through a similar situation to me and can share their story.

Hugs Hun. Been there myself but my story ended sadly, I had a 1:2 for T21 & a 1:4 for both T13 & T 18. On the other hand I have 2 girlfriends who had good endings though.

This is the hardest part the waiting and unknowns. Feel free to PM me to chat xx

Sorry to hear you are going through this. We had a similar blood result which came back as high risk for Trisomy 18. We had 1:190 risk although on the scan things looked within range. We opted for the Harmony test which took about 10 days for the result, and were very relieved to have it come back as 1:10000. Fingers crossed all will work out for u and bubs. It can be such a shock and nightmare to make it to this point and then realise something might be wrong. All the best xx

Thank you for replying so quickly, it's a comfort in a way to be able to talk to other people who know exactly how I'm feeling, as it's impossible to put into words or to explain to your husband and family.
MaybeBabyIVF I'm so sorry to hear what you went through, I can't imagine how painful it was and I'm sure still is for you. I really appreciate your message and would love to chat some more.
Maxdreamer, thank you for your message and it is great to read positive outcomes like your story, it gives me some hope.
I will let you know how I go, I just pray for everything to be ok. xx

Hugs to you xxxThat wait is so horrible. I had a similar scan, with NT high about 3.6mm and low PAPP-A. My risk for T21 was 1:7. I had normal CVS, couldn't believe it! I still had a hard pregnancy with placenta problems and early delivery but my DS is fine now.
Really hope you get your results soon and it's good news.

    Hi there OP,
    Congratulations on your pregnancy!
Just wanted to give you a different perspective.
I have a 6yo with Down syndrome so wanted to say that if it turns out your baby does have Ds, and you'd like to have a chat to someone about what parenting a child with Ds is really like, please pm me.
Best of luck with your pregnancy

Hi everyone, just a quick update to let you know the FISH results have come back clear, and I was also told we are having a little girl. I fell in love with my baby even more. Now the wait for the final report and repeat scan soon to check her heart. Thank you again for your support x
