    Default IVF/FET May-June 2016

@lotsathoughts sorry to hear about your friend/ family member. Over the last few months I have distanced myself from a few friends for this very reason. I haven't looked back! My mum still causes me a bit of trouble with her lack of IVF support but I think we may be having some success "retrain[ing]" her.
P.S I tried one of the meditation apps you recommended yesterday & I had the best sleep i've had in weeks!

@Heyside Congrats on the great fertilisation numbers! Great to hear the bloating has subsided & you've bounced back so well! No doubt that protein infusion has helped. Are you still on track for transfer next week?
Couldn't believe your friend re: fortnightly pessaries. So arrogant!

@MAQ247 YAY for CD1. So much admiration for you juggling everything. When is DH home? Did your nurse manage to confirm your dosage?

@obesebaby @hopefull29 Haha my DH made the same comment about the size of the cup!! He actually missed the cup first time for both our fresh IVF . Was far from ideal, especially considering optimum sperm quality requires a period of abstinence but we still managed to get good fertilisation.

@obesebaby sounds like everything is on track for a smooth EPU. I had a GA so can't really comment re: pain...

@SurferGalGC no pain killers before hand, the nurse didn’t mention anything to me but I suppose she will give me all those when I arrive the clinic. This is the time I felt we are super woman and will accept all the pain like how we did with the injection! Good luck on Friday EPU and let me know how you go.
@hopefull29 Thanks! Was sedation by choice or depends on the instruction of FS?
@julianicholson Thanks! I will remember to take it easy the next day, hubby will work from home to help out with DS, I will pop out for an hour or so for acupuncture to keep up with a good blood flow and healthy lining ready for transfer.
@laugo Thanks for the heads up! I guess I can deal with 24 hours of pain hopefully that’s the only and last time I have to experience it!
@belinda780 Thanks for info, hope everything went well for you on your side.
@Muchulu1 DH better aim well if that’s the only thing he is doing! But I guess with a million of those sperms in one tiny drop, spilling little is still ok…hehe

@obesebaby my clinic only does the sedation. I would have much preferred to be awake. But then woke up feeling like I'd had a big nap. It's a heavy sedation so almost like a GA but without the breathing tubes and not as long in recovery. I found out the egg numbers as soon as I got to recovery and woke up.

Those ladies on crinone any tips for the sore boobs? My boobs are absolutely killing me. lol. I can't even knock them or roll on them through the night. They were a little sore after the trigger and now they're just getting worse and worse each day.

@MAQ247 - Sounds like a definite challenge hun working full time with a 3 year old, hope you have some more support soon. Great news that your cycle has started and can get started, hope your dose is sorted easily. Thanks for the positivity on my results hun but I know this is the hardest part for me with a big drop off.
@Muchulu1 - Hope the higher dose of progynova does the trick if thats what is decided hun. Thanks hun yes happy with fert results, my bloating came back last night have a feeling I may be overdoing my fluids and protein and thats whats doing it haha! Yes I want to scream at my friend and tell her to do anything to keep her baby safe, if only she knew!
@obesebaby - Great number of follies at a good size hun. Good luck for Monday at EPU, sorry I can't help with the pain in an EPU under local but hope its not too bad hun. Maybe ask if there is anything they advise to take beforehand.
@hopefull29 - I don't think there is much you can do about the sore boobs hun, I usually do the pregnyl boosters too which add to the soreness. In past cycles though I know when the boobs start getting less sore I start to stress more thinking it hasn't worked, think its one of those things that we can't win with.

AFM - I was very bloated again last night but I am struggling to keep up with my 3litres of fluids and high protein diet. Thinking this may have caused my bloat and then I spent all night getting up to go to the toilet haha! Have decided to not get an update today on embies will wait to speak to nurses tomorrow.

@Heyside I thought that'd be the case with the sore boobs.
Sucks your bloating came back. I know if I drink water too quickly and too much at once I get bloating. I'm better drinking small amounts at a time. My body is now very used to water throughout the day and I'm fine now. I hope it feels better soon. Good idea about not getting an update on your embies until tomorrow. It's nice to have a "day off". I won't hear about my last one until tomorrow afternoon or Tuesday morning if the embryologist forgets to call me. My nurse doesn't work public holidays.
I've found a solution to my googling addiction- I've started playing candy crush. Lol. So now anytime I feel the need to good I play candy crush instead. Lol. So far so good. My DH thinks I've gone mad. I'm really not a "gamer"

Hi @hopefull29 the sore boobs are the worst! I found heat packs helped to reduce discomfort. Another friend found cooling her boobs worked better during her pregnancy so she bought the gel breast pads from the chemist and put them in the freezer (I am sure they make something for warm also). I remember when I used crinone even just the slightest touch was painful. Keeping fluids up can help a bit but not really....sorry.

In terms of the distraction of candy crush- try the game 2048 or 2048 6x6 I am not a gamer either, but the challenge has me hooked.

AFM- last night I kept feeling like AF was coming which FREAKED ME OUT BIG TIME!, I of course got my google on an saw some reassuring posts around the place. I gave in - more to prepare myself for the worst and POAS this morning and 2 pink lines showed up, so hopefully this means it is for real.... I have done a completely natural cycle with not a single med so surely this can't be a false positive....

Thank you so much for your support ladies. Sound like we've all had to deal with distancing ourselves from people that aren't helpful during such tough times. I just wish more people understood how tough it is.
I've tried to be really honest with my cousin when her comments are upsetting (eg I can't believe we fell so quickly again! Only decided halfway through March and halfway through April we're pregnant). I've tried sharing what the journey is like to evoke some sort of compassion. But like my psychologist says, maybe I'm owning it too much (if I do this then maybe she'll understand) when really it has proven not to help at all.

I think I'll have to agree with lots of you and distance myself. I can't keep being her support for things that are blown out of proportion when she can't support me at all. The latest one is freaking out about having twins when at the scan they found a sack and a dot that they can't 100% confirm. She said she'll cry and she only put in an order for one...blah blah blah. I really doubt she's having twins but she has to make it a huge deal.
Her follow up scan is next Wednesday...the day I was supposed to have my blood test.

Unfortunately AF arrived today so I'm out. I will definitely need supportive people around.

I will prob have to wait a couple of months. Even with a frozen cycle I need stimulation for lining and ovulation so will be a few months off my next round. Will give me time to try get my eggs in better shape and save up.

Hi @lotsathoughts sorry to here you are out this cycle it is always devastating. You are sounding positive about the next step which is the most important thing. Focus on yourself and your body they are the most important things in this process. Positive and supportive people are who you need. All the best in achieving the elusive BFP

@hopefull29 - yes I definitely think its the fluids giving me the bloating, can feel it setting in again now after waking up feeling fine. I am ok with drinking waterand use to drinking 8 large glasses a day forthe last few years but currently trying to drink, 3 x sustagen, 3x hydrolites, 2x pear juice, 1x tomato juice, 2x water, 1x beroca and 1x inofolic (for my pcos). Just yhe thought of that is knocking me sick at the moment, its no wonder I have bloated up. Will ask tomorrow how long I have to keep it up for. Hope you hear sooner rather than later on thatlast embie hun, fingers crossed for you. I love your gaming idea to stay off google will try and find one I like to follow your lead as I am hopeless in the tww and turn to Google too easily.
@julianicholson - Wow hun that sounds like a definite bfp to me if its a none medicated cycle the only thing that could be possiblly sending out hcg is a little bubba settling in. Sending congratulations to you hun hopefully this is your sticky take home baby.

@Juliancholson OMG! Congratulations Hun. So over the moon for you. No meds and 2 lines surely has to be a positive!! When's BT day?
I'll check that game out for sure! I'll also try some heat/cool pads. We have something at work that'll work perfect. Hadn't even thought of them.

@lotsthoughts so sorry to hear you're out. This truly does suck. I'd suggest ignoring her calls or turning your phone off (or just blocking her number) on Wednesday. You certainly won't need to hear from her! I hope you're coping ok. There's nothing we can really say to make you feel any better but you're in my thoughts and I have my fingers crossed for your next cycle. xxx
@Heyside omg that's an insane amount of fluid. Lol I don't think I could do all that in one day (and eat meals too!) Hats off to you! No wonder you're bloated!
