Hi ladies! Can I join you? I was in this forum 5 years ago when I did IVF previously and it was such a help to me.

I noticed someone started their cycle the same day as me Which was 30th April. I'm just jabbing away here - pretty hideous gonal side effects this time, I'm on a 300 dose.

    good luck to everyone

I am not doing a fresh transfer because we are doing PGD. @MissyK I have my fingers crossed for you. there is nothing worse than the 2WW especially when you are having symptoms like you are.
@hopefull29 no long weekend for me, I am in SA and a school teacher so started back at work today feeling very sorry for myself.
Same! First day back at school for me too 😩 waaaa!

    Hi everyone,

I'm hoping it's ok for me to join in here? A little bit about me:

I'm nearly 28 and my husband and I started IVF at just 21. We married at 20 and found out a few months later that my DH had a total blockage (by this point I had been off of the pill for around 18 months). We were referred straight to a fertility clinic and commenced our first round of IVF. We were very lucky that they were able to cut my husband's testicles open and retrieve sperm from the tissue. We were however told there was no point in trying standard IVF and that ICSI would be the only chance for us.

Our first round we managed to get 11 eggs with 2 fertilising, we did a fresh transfer which was a BFN. We decided to take 12 months off at this point (we were very overwhelmed and a little naive thinking our first round would work) and we went backpacking around Europe.

We return 7 months later and decided to do another full stim rather than using our frozen embryo. This time we got 9 eggs and 3 fertilised. We transferred one which was unsuccessful and froze the other two. In April 2012 we had our first natural FET and fell pregnant with our now 3 year old - the light of our lives!

When he was 9 months old we decided to go back again. A unsuccessful FET followed and we then embarked on another Stim cycle. We got 14 eggs this time, we transferred one day 5 embryo (all other transfers previously had been day 3 embryos). Unfortunately it was another BFN. We did another FET and this time decided to transfer 2 embryos, our clinic had to thaw all 4 blasts to transfer two (two didn't survive the thaw). Again another BFN.

By this point we were pretty spent emotionally, physically and mentally. We only had one lonely little embryo left in the freezer and decided to try our luck. We did a natural FET and two weeks later I found out I was pregnant. We were over the moon! At 5w4d I slipped over on the wet pavement out the front of our house, I went down really hard on my pelvis. I had quite bad cramps but not bleeding so I stupidly thought everything was ok. A scan 2 weeks later at 7w4d showed that our baby girl sadly had no heartbeat. We were (and still are) absolutely heartbroken.

It's been a long, hard year and I still have good and bad days. I own a baby store so seeing all the pregnant ladies come in can make things a bit tricky. Our son is at the age where he is starting to ask when he will get a brother or sister. We swore black and blue that we weren't going to try again but alas, here we are.

We are off to Bali Thursday week for some much needed R&R. We were hoping to start this month but we will be home 2 days too late to start bloods and ultrasounds so we need to hold off until June.

I look forward to getting to know you all and hope we all get our BFP's soon!

    Amy x

@mac247 welcome!! Gosh it's hard even reading your story but I'm sure sure you'll have another happy ending. So sure. It happened once and will happen again. 😊

I can't believe you own a baby store! You must be an incredibly strong woman. I found it hard even hearing that a friend was pregnant. I felt like such a b!tch. Of course I'm very happy for her but her due date is only a week or so off when my baby would have been due so it hurt a little.

I've had an urgent blood test today to try and work out what's going on. I was surprised when my specialist messaged and she to come in for one..so I'll find out my progesterone levels this arvo I guess and maybe it might explain something.
