@mrsthomo nice to see a familiar name. Bet is feels good to be getting back into it. I remember you got the OHSS last time :/ Hope you've made a full recovery. What have you been up to? Did I hear you've changed FS?
I've been ploughing along since the mar/ apr thread. Have been cycling back to back. Unfortunately we're still waiting for that elusive BFP. It hasn't been easy. Im going to see the fertility counsellor for the first time tomorrow :/ Have avoided going until now but she called me on Friday to checkin & I just started balling my eyes out, could hardly speak. I think at that point it was pretty obvious that I could do with some extra help. I'm open to anything that makes this journey easier! Does anyone else see a fertility counsellor? Has it helped?
@mrsthomo about the double transfers... Our FS originally said single transfers only but at out last appt after 4 failed transfers he offered the double option. There are so many considerations with the double. Despite his offer I'm going to stick with the single for now. He said that at my age (29) nothing would be lost for staying with the singles. If this cycle doesn't work i think I'll try a double. Apparently it only increases your chances of a live birth by 7% & it comes with a heap of risks. miscarriage, pre term labour, triplets etc. Anyway... I'll be holding onto that 7% if we don't get lucky this time around!
@mrsthomo - Yes I remember you saying about you changing clinics will pm you! I had done 7 rounds of OI, 1 fresh transfer and two frozen when my doctor agreed to a double transfer. We chickened out though and only put one back which is now my biggest regret as that left only one frozen embryo so no double transfer was available and unfortunately it didn't survive the thaw and we had no back up. When I transfered to wazza he would only put one back initially but we then persuaded him on an an fet but it was a bfn. I asked about doing the same this cycle but his hands are now tide and he isn't allowed to put two back in women under 38 due to his twin pregnancy results.
@Muchulu1 - Hope you find the counselor supportive hun and its just what you need. I haven't been myself but have heard some women on bub hub comment that its very usueful for them x
@rbccdwyn congratulations & welcome! So exciting. I go for my collection tomorrow and was worried about low follicle numbers but this has given me hope! Was this your first cycle? 3 injections sounds full on!!
@Heyside that awesome Hun, I hope with lower numbers they are great quality. Your lining sounds promising too!
@mrsthomo I always thought at the end of the day the decision was yours as to how many you transferred. My clinic advised only one but said ultimately it's up to you. If you want more than one you need to sign a disclaimer. It's amazing how different clinics work. I'm drinking plenty of water. Thank you. I'm not quite as bloated today. I have however put on 1.5kg but did eat out lots over the weekend sometimes my body does that from eating out. Will monitor my weight more after EPU.
@obesebaby sounds like you're going to get a few eggs. Congratulations!
@muchulu good on you for going to see the councillor. I was planning on seeing one but I've actually been coping ok with my first cycle- much better than I expected given I really wasn't coping before the IVF process. If this cycle fails I think I'll need to take up the clinics offer for counselling. I hope you find it beneficial. It's a very brave strong step to admit you need some help so good on you.
Update on my situation. I triggered last night, injection was fine. I'd be warned that it was a painful one (used ovidril). Feeling pretty good today. Definitely loving the day of no meds that's for sure. I'm not as bloated today as I was yesterday so I'm happy about that. I have a busy day at work today and I'm finding im exhausted. But I guess with everything that's going on inside its to be expected. I'm scheduled for tomorrow at 11am. Will let you know how many eggs we get. I'm really excited, a little anxious about the number but I keep telling myself I can't change the outcome so what will be will be.
Hope everyone else is having a good Monday 😃
I am due in early feb it was my 2nd cycle and the injections were puregon. Oralgutran and lueveris. Sorry about the spelling im not exactly sure of the correct spelling as I threw all left over medicine out. My specialist is Julie lukic she is in sydney at primary ivf and she is amazing. I wish you all the best and pls stay positive . I have no tubes but 2 ovaries so I was at a loss and feeling low but just keep trying and stay positive
@rbccdwny congrats on your pregnancy, I notice you are in Sydney just wondering if primary IVF really is a bulk bill IVF clinic? I am with Genea Sydney and it’s not bulk bill. If our journey end up is a bad one Its good to have a back up plans.
Can you tell me approx. the cost involve for your two IVF cycles including all he BT, Scan, surgery and medication etc if you don’t mind? Thanks a lot!
mrsthomo I actually can't remember the exact reason because it's been so long since I chose this clinic that FET just feels like the norm. They are a bulk bill clinic and I'm pretty sure one of the injections I take will reduce my lining or something.
I had high amh so I think I could be at risk of ohss too so I'm glad for the FET just in case!
When are we meant to up our water intake? In the lead up to epu? The nurse said water/Gatorade/hydrolyte/coconut water but I can't remember when she said to do it.
I love reading everybody's stories <3
Hi ladies I thought I would chime in on this thread also as it's so great hearing people going through the same things at the same time. I'm about two hours out from having my trigger with EPU scheduled for Wednesday! I'm nervous and excited as this is my 1st IVF cycle after TTC for just over 2 years.
Had another scan today and I have 6 good sized follies with several other smaller ones. Not sure if that's good or not but at least there are some!
Looking forward to hearing everybody's updates as they progress!
Wishing you heaps of luck for your pick up! It's not the most comfortable, but manageable. Do you have the rest of the week off?
I'm personally waiting for AF to start our first FET cycle. We got very luck with our first full cycle and have DS who is 10 months, and are jumping back in to the IVF rollercoaster.
