    Default IVF/FET May-June 2016

This may be way too early, but after a mc I now have to wait for a natural cycle, which means I'd be able to do a FET with our last emby or start a new stim cycle around May/June.

Any one in the same boat?

    Hi @Kookii

I will more than likely be in the same boat. I had a mc in Feb, luckily my cycle returned straight away and I was meant to have my final frozen emby transferred today.

Unfortunately the embryo didn't survive the 'defrost'. This means that I will either be doing my next round of ICSI later this month or next month some time. So I may be a wee bit earlier than you. Good luck with it all, we can keep each other company during this wait.

Sorry abt your mc and lost embryo 😔. How hard it is after all we have to do isn't it? I had a mc as well in March, still waiting for AF though (I'm cd32). FS said I should wait one "normal period" and then we could try again, FET with our last embryo or go for a full stim. I'm seeing a reproductive immunologist tomorrow, depending on what's happening with my body in that area, I really hope to have a transfer in May/June 🙂

Hi @Kookii! I'll be back for a FET in May, couldn't do April due to work commitments.. Does everyone normally have a break between cycles? I didn't last time but I am this cycle!

    Hi,
I'll be doing my first IVF cycle for May/June. Just waiting for my natural period to start end of April, then get started on levlen and the nasal spray. I'm starting on the injections- 150purgeon mid May and hoping all going well egg pick up and transfers second week of June.
It's all very daunting not knowing what to expect but I'm also a bit excited.
It's taken 3 long years of trying with a large ovarian cyst removal and after trying clomid with still no success to find out my left tube is blocked to get to this stage.
Fingers crossed they get enough eggs so that I only have to do stims once! I'm going through Monash IVF.

    Hi all,
@Ashe87 I only had a break after my BFN after my first transfer other than that we have tried with each cycle. I am waiting to hear from my FS if I can do an ICSI this cycle or if I have to wait, I just want to do it.

I have started doing acupuncture weekly to try and ensure everything is at its optimum including lining, circulation and all sorts of other goodness. My hubby is going to start getting acupuncture to see if we can improve count, morphology and motility as we have male factor fertility problems.
@Kookii my cycle is anywhere from 28 - 35 CD since starting the process so it makes it very tricky to determine my timing.
@hopefull29 good luck with everything it is an exciting time but also scary, make sure to ask us or others any questions to help reassure as it is a confusing time. Make sure you rest and take care of yourself, you will feel tired and emotional if you are anything like me. This is all normal, just look after you.

I find the whole process really interesting and exciting but at the same time very draining emotionally, physically and financially. I remain very hopeful and I know my journey is short compared to others. It is nice to have people in a similar boat to chat with.

I wish everyone all the best! May/June are the months for us, keep positive and relaxed. Look forward to sharing my journey with people who get it.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but thought I'd try. Sorry if it's not- I'm very new to forums and this is the first one I'm posting in.....
Our FS has recommended that if they get 6 or more eggs they will do half ICSI half natural fertilisation. Is this normal? DH sperm count was pretty good, motility & mobility was slightly lower than the recommended but only by 2% but FS thought this was only due to a 3 hour delay in testing it.

Hi @hopefull29 let me start by saying I am no expert (anybody feel free to correct me) and don't have a huge amount of experience, as ICSI was our only option.

The benefit of doing ICSI is that it is 'guaranteed' the egg will meet the sperm and hopefully fertilise, but there can be the downside that while they select the 'best' sperm to inject it may not be the 'best' in reality, hence the use of natural fertilisation (which requires a bit of survival of the fittest).

So I am guessing by doing both, it is a best of both world's scenario. By having 6 or more eggs there is a bit more room for safe 'experimentation' to determine which method results in the 'best' embryos for you two. Not sure it is 'normal' but I don't know that there is a 'normal' with all of this but it sounds reasonable to me, not putting all eggs in one basket hehe. I hope I haven't confused you more or just babbled away. Good luck,

I think there is also a FS thread on here where you can ask questions like this and get far more educated response than my own.

I never had two cycles in a row, not because I wanted to though. My first and second transfer were cancelled for risk of ohss. In between my first and second cycle we had a break so DH could be on more supps/vits recommended by our FS to improve his swimmers. Now again, another two/three more months and not getting any younger! I do think a break is good for your body though.
    Best of luck!
