You should totally have the day off. Put cream on the whole family, leave it overnight. Then change the sheets, vacuum the bed, couch, house. Then wash off. Reapply after 7 days, I think your non contagious after the first treatment, but the second treatment kills any remaining eggs.

My kid just had something very very similar.

His lasted a week and a bit, and was only on his arms and legs. Not anywhere on torso.

Dr took a swab but it was negative for chicken pox. The only think I can think of is that it's a virus (wasn't HF&M, not on soles of feet, hands, genitals or in mouth).

He has been a little sick of late (now has tonsillitis) and so I think his immune system was just down and he got this rash virus as a result. Have a look, I think it looks similar to yours.

Ps I bathed him in pinetarsol and put bepanthen antiseptic cream on it (because he's only 2 and didn't want to use a steroid-based cream).

    Hope u get better soon.

Oh yes it does look similar but mine is more sparse and it is spreading. Was the diagnosis a virus ? Was it contagious?
I am going to go to the Dr and request some tests. Then will wash all bedding and towels just in case. How fun.

No one else has gotten it - yet.

We didn't get a diagnosis unfortunately. The swab tested for chicken pox but not for anything else. Had it not had started to go away last week I was going back.

I think it was a secondary virus that got to him easily because of his already compromised immune system.

I did keep him home though, didn't let him go to 2 x kids parties. If for nothing else, to avoid the question on whether it was chicken pox.
