Default Dr alex alexander Help with figuring out medicare rebate for planning and management

    Hi all
I am so confused as to how the Medicare rebate works. I am wanting to go private and see Dr Alex Alexander in Brisbane (I have incompetent cervix and he has been highly recommended to me). Just trying to figure out if we can afford it.
His planning and management fee due at 24 weeks is $2750. Item numbers for MBS are 16590 and 16591 but I don't understand what the website means??? How much would I get back since I've reached the threshold this year? We have top hospital cover with bupa too.
    Thanks so much!

Yep this. My management fee is $4200 and I get about $490 back.

You then have to pay any hospital excess on your health insurance policy and if you need an epidural or c section, you usually pay the oop cost of the anethestist.
