@winsor, sitting here crying for you and your DH this morning. I am so very, very sorry for your loss.

Little Gracie will always be a part of you both, and knew nothing but the surrounding love of her parents until the end.

    Sending you massive, massive hugs

I would strongly suggest, if you have used the same FS for previous cycles requesting a discount and perhaps mention that nowadays it is cheaper to go overseas.
I personally think they "double dip" for DE cycles and the extra costs are unjustified. Ask for a discount and ask to pay "option b" so you don't have to pay it all upfront just the Medicare gap further down the track.
    Hope that helps a little

Thank you @MissDa, that is very helpful.

It also highlights to me that we don't have enough money to do a DE cycle and may instead have to pursue donor embryos as a lower cost alternative.

There are pros and cons on both sides, I know. I had very much liked the idea of a donor egg cycle and felt confident that I might be able to find a donor. Not sure about embryo donors and how common they are though, through EDA?

This weekend DH and I are going to formulate 2 advertisements to send to the Minister for approval. I might actually do two separate ads - one for eggs and one for embryos. I have emailed my clinic about estimated costs for a DE cycle so that we are more informed in our decision. I am also going to look into World Egg Bank at my clinic's suggestion.

Winsor I am so sorry for your partner and you.

I am sorry that little Grace couldn't stay and happy that she got to experience so much love in the time she was with you.

I know my advice means diddly, but I wouldn't go for the chromosome testing. I have had to have 4 d&c's and only passed one naturally. This one was measuring behind and I just knew in my heart it was chromosomal. Had he been measuring to dates with good heartbeats like some of the others I may have been tempted but once I saw him in his little sac, I knew I didn't want anything done to him. What I did was buy a beautiful rose bush in a pot and buried him there. I also have bought 5 little cherubs and they sit in the pot. I still remember all my due dates and all my bubs would have been born in Spring/Summer and I just love it if a rose blooms around any of their due dates. What you do is up to you but just thought I would share what my husband and I did.

Big hugs to your partner and you.

[QUOTE=Chiefsgirl;8433948]@Blossom74 I can't help with costs locally as I did my donor cycle overseas. I paid us$27k for the overseas cycle alone and all up have paid aud$10k on immune meds. I did get to choose my donor and it is a semi anonymous (i.e. We have pics and info but can't contact her). We decided to go there because they had a great success rate and they seemed to get more embryo's than some other overseas clinics. It was very $$$$ though and we dipped into the mortgage to pay for it./QUOTE]

Thanks @Chiefsgirl I like the surety an O/seas donation gives with regards to egg numbers but for us, there is just no way we could handle those sort of costs. I appreciate your reply though, and who knows? Maybe when we win the lotto? Because I've been so lucky in life so far, ya know

I think that is a lovely idea @calypso75. Such a beautiful way to remember your Angels

@midnite01, it's Auction Day! Sending super good luck vibes your way today, and can't wait to hear how it goes.

    @Tahli? (Enough said, lol)

How did last night go? And where, might I ask, is my stick pic?!

Oh @winsor. What a tough night you've had. You sound quite peaceful now. My heart is still breaking for what the three of you are experiencing. I am so sorry precious Gracie is no longer safely tucked up inside your beautiful body.
I also planted white rose bushes to remember each of my lost babies and also gained so much pleasure from seeing them bloom.
