@Blossom74 and all other interested parties!
I have found my initial quote from Monash for known donor egg cycle
Cycle cost $15 433- Medicare rebate $7163.90 estimated OOP $8269
    + HA ICSI $400
+ counselling $220 per session, compulsory 3 sessions ( a complete rip off so do question this with your FS)
+ pre cycle consultations approx $250 fully rebated
+ bloods for donor around $300
    + pharmacy costs $300
+ "reasonable costs" incurred by donor ( travel, time off, baby sitting etc)
    Jeez no wonder I'm broke!!

Ok, so roughly $10,000 OOP plus travel and accommodation.

Good thing I just applied for a $10K loan then! My clinic hasn't gotten back to me yet so I just took a stab in the dark. We are with a Monash clinic so hopefully those are reasonable estimates for our clinic too.

Our application has been completed (in our joint names) and DH just needs to sign his life away on it.

I hope we look ok on paper I did the budget section and put in our costs. The essentials are all there and it shows we have about $550 a month expendable income. The loan repayment would be about $170 a month.

I hope that's enough to get us over the line....What do you think?

@MissDa I found the costs interesting, thanks for sharing. When I costed up doing a fresh donor cycle for CT it came to $12k so not a big difference. I think where the difference lays is if you need to do a FET. How much is it to do a subsequent FET with a known donor?

Everything will be OK in the end.
If it's not OK it's not the end.

I wouldn't think a FET with a donor egg would be any more expensive than normal, would it? It is a service for yourself, so I think it would be the same whether you use OE or DE. My clinic charges roughly $2,400 for a FET, and I get about $1,100 of that back through Medicare

@Blossom Sorry, I meant a CT FET is more expensive. Even though it's only $600, by the time you add flights etc it comes to about $3k.

    Ah, yes, of course. Sorry!

Either way, I reckon that unless one of us wins the lotto, none of us will have a lot of spare moulah lying around after this cr@p!
