    Default Insomnia

    Hi, I'm looking for advice on how to get to sleep.
    I've been struggling lately to fall asleep and as the time I have to sleep is so limited anyway (8 month old wakes 5ish times a night) I need to take full advantage of it!
    It takes me a long time to fall asleep at night when I go to bed (sometimes 3-4 hrs) and I can't nap during the day.
    Please hit me with your tips.

    I have had trouble sleeping as far back as I can remember. Since hitting my teens, I can't remember ever going to sleep while it was still pm, unless I was hideously ill. Mostly I force myself to try get sleep around 2, sometimes 3 in the morning. I don't nap either. And I have 4 young kids including a 3yo daughter with insomnia (medicated) and an 18mo that still wakes twice a night.

    My best tip. The only thing that only slightly works with me, is rain/thunder sounds. I have them playing in my room and they definitely help. Been doing it for about 2 months now and it has added about an hour to my sleep, which is huge.

    Have you tried some exercise before bed? A hot bath? .....I don't know this is what I have been told sometimes it works other times it doesn't :/

    Insomnia is a b!tch. I suffer on and off too. I either take hours to get to sleep or wake up at 3am and can't get back to sleep. I've found meditation helps. I've used a Glenn Harold app on and off for years and find it helps me sleep better. Give it a go. You need to use it nightly for 3 weeks, but I find I sleep better in 2-3 days.

    im not sure what dosage kids have, maybe adults have a higher dosage? not sure
