    Default What's this rash?

Ds 2yo was admitted to hospital Sunday night with viral asthma.
Lots and lots of ventolin given. No other meds given or prescribed since Sunday morning.

He started to develop a rash whilst in hospital but they weren't at all concerned.

It's not purple, it turns white when pressed.
To me it looks like HF&M but it's not actually on the soles of his feet, hands or face. It's only on the sides of feet and has spread all over his arms and legs. It's not on his torso or face, or in his mouth.

He isn't in any discomfort. They are raised bumps but not blistery. They look like little zits I guess.

Dr tomorrow but I'm just assuming that it's part of the virus that he's fighting, that it's obviously wrecked his immune system and has broken out as part of the virus.

Any ideas on what it could be?

    Default What's this rash?

This looks very similar to a rash that came over dd when she was 1yr. Like strawberry birth marks from top to toe and got much worse before it got better including blisters that sometimes turned into scabs. Poor chicken!
It was as you described - part of the virus. Their little bodies can't fight as well as ours and it was all part of her immune system trying to move on from the virus.
It took us three doctors to find answers - the first told me it was an allergic reaction to a big bite. Cleared in a week after some medicine and rest. Hopefully your LO isn't affected for long- I certainly didn't enjoy waking up each morning to see her rash spread even further across her body and be so red and aggressive. We've just been through the same viral asthma with DD 18 months - so scary! Hope your wee man us on the mend soon.
I think the rash is probably viral too, would be interested to hear what your GP says.

    Bump. Anyone else?

Still only on arms and legs but has spread to bigger-sized lumps. He is still a happy Chappy with no discomfort.

Dr today at midday but I'm a bit concerned.

    That looks horrible, poor Bub.

At this stage we don't have blisters, I hope it doesn't get to that.
