    Default Obstetrician's with immunology experience

    Hi everyone,
I have just got my first ever BFP after 3 years and 8 transfers & got a letter from my FS saying to book into an Obstetrician. I have quite a lot of immunology issues (coeliac, MTHFR, anti phospholipids, thrombosis, enlarged blood cells, elevated NK cells), plus I have had a cone biopsy on my cervix so are likely to need a stitch. I got my BFP this time due to all my immunology research & pretty heavy protocol so I really need an obstetrician that understands/is open to this. Does anyone have any recommendations of obstetrician's in Melbourne that are good with immunology issues? Or know how to find one? My google searches haven't found much and my FS wasn't too much help.
    Thanks in advance!

Hi. I'm not in Melbourne but I would look for all Ob with CREI (may not be many, only two in Qld I think and I see one of them) then try and get reviews on who you find.

    Default Obstetrician's with immunology experience

    Hi,
I'm in Melbourne. My OB is Vicki Nott and delivers in st Vincent's. She is very knowledgable in many areas. I have had to do ivf and have elevated nk cells. She liaised with my fs to make sure my treatment was on track. I also have had to have a stitch in my previous pregnancy which Vicki did at 13 weeks and with my pregnancy this time I opted for an pre pregnancy abdominal stitch with a dr Ades who is a brilliant OB who is the only dr in vic to do this special type of stitch. I probably would have got him as my OB if I didn't love vicki so much.
Maybe do a ring around and ask receptionists if they specialise in these areas. I would say you should be looking for a high risk OB.
Good luck and pm me if you want more details

Thanks Lisau77! I hadn't even heard of a MFM specialist until you mentioned it but it definitely sounds like it could be a good option for me. I spent so much time researching how to get pregnant unfortunately I don't know too much about the being pregnant part!
