    The two Mikayla's I know are spelt Makaela and Mikayla.

    I don't really have a preference.

    As previously said the original spelling is Michaela, as it is a feminine version of Michael.
    Personally I prefer the original spelling and think of that as the correct spelling (sorry!)

    I would pronounce Makayla differently to Mikayla/Michaela so you may want to consider how you want it.

    It was the girl's name I picked out when I was about 15, but coincidentally I had a cousin born soon after named Michaela, or it'd still be on my list!

    After our Mikayla was born it took us hours and hours to decide on how to spell her name. We really really wanted that name but could not decide on how to spell it. We ended up spelling it this way as it was an easier way. It is not very often we have to spell her name out at all!

    I know of michaela and mikayla. The one spelt mikayla has her name shortened to mika which I think is really nice.
