What do you want me to say to this? After a terrible day Thanks for the extra slap in the face ma'am.

I don't know why you feel you have to say anything? Sorry you've had a rubbish day - so have I and so have many, many people on this site and yet, you'll slap them and just tell them to not make it personal.
If you want to discuss RIE? Happy to.

I'd like to discuss RIE. I've never heard of it.

I follow no philosophy. I follow instinct.

As for the OP. Honestly I took it as an olive branch. Maybe I'm not a hard **** cynic these days.

I took it the same way to be honest and appreciated the gesture.

Yeah, look, you know I love you ladies but I'm honestly dismayed to see the wagons circling without even giving the thread a chance to begin, let alone evolve.

Say what you want about VP's opinions on sleep (and hey I'll probably agree for the most part), she almost always sticks to the topic and tries to avoid the whole personal attack thing. Sorry you've had a bad day VP.

We have always agreed in sleep threads VP pretty much offering the same opinion/advice.
    Love the article!
I wish I had read the sleep sense guide and such articles with ds1 who eventually did sort himself out sleep wise but it would have been easier and happened alot quicker if we had something to go on earlier. I read the sleep sense guide and followed it when Ds2 was 8ish months old and he was a better sleeper sooner rather than later. I followed it much sooner with ds3. I have 3 great sleepers as a result.

Misskitty for the hardarse cynic award!
RIE is basically respectful parenting. Not something I follow by law but just something I draw on at times.

I have had 3 great sleepers as babies. My DD1 slept through at 4 months and my DD2 was less than a week old when she slept for 8 hours. It's nothing that I did, that was just them.

I think it was maybe an olive branch until she wouldn't concede...to rose's request then my cynical pants came on

Why did you feel the need to say what you did in the first place?
It's not the message but the messenger... really! Rude much..
