@Gagingi im so sorry to hear your news i think its so unfair. I'm truly exhausted by this journey personaly and i couldn't imagine starting a new DE one. However the thought of not being a mummy at all im sure would be worse.

@BlondeinBrisvegas i hope you are all feeling better.

@Summer please please please let this be your stickiest embie. Baby dust cyclone heading your way yippee

AFM well we went to wazza today and beyond any doubt other than my hubby he is the nicest man ive ever met. I think hubby has a man crush. He really connected with my dh. Really included him. He has reviewed everything and has said he will give us what we need but my chances are 5 to 10% at most even though im 38. He mentioned DE being 60% but said to go home and have think. I mentioned my low cost last clinic he said well money doesn't grow on trees and that he will give me all his stuff but keep us at low cost clinic i honestly cant believe his generosity
He told me its a numbers game for me and he would rather me be able to have 3 more goes with his protocols at low cost clinic then go once with him as its not likely we would be that lucky first time and financialy thats all we have. If we are still unlucky he will then review. Im totaly shocked and amazed. What a simply wonderful man. Babies here we come.

What does hgh and dhea do for egg quality in simple terms ? My brain is mush post our appointment

I had 3-day PGD and they froze the cavitating morula as they didn't have the PGD result back in time for the 5-day transfer. At the time of freezing the cavitating morula was actually late day 4, as I had late EPU and early ET. I read on the net today about some clinics letting embryos go to day 7, or until they succumb.

In retrospect, you are right that I wasn't in great shape at that ET, as I almost had to go back to hospital that night, so hopefully that is why ET failed.
@Gagingi - if there was a bit of free fluid or blood in your uterus at the time of transfer it could have affected implantation, you never know. You get a scenario where the oven is calm and you transfer your other PGD normal embie and that could well be your perfect recipe for success.

@Summer are you doing the multiple times a day poas? or sticking to just one. it's so hard not to do multiple - those lines are addictive!

I'm running about 3 weeks late on this final uni assignment (for the subject) (distracted) - so I'm going to do something with "that second line" again - this time it's found

Knowing my level of addiction it will be multiple times a day. 😱 In the past FMU has not been the best, so I have done 2MU & afternoon ones to see if there's any changes. Very expensive exercise as I don't have a CW near me! And I keep saying that I won't get obsessed so haven't pre-ordered FRERs online - silly me!

Look forward to seeing the next stage of your assignment :-)

    Hi to everyone else.
Yep, he's an amazing man allright!!!

OK..here's a link explaining how they think HGH helps with egg quality:

    http://www.advancedfertility.com/blo...or-responders/

And this from Dr Sher's website:

Several researchers have shown that the administration of human growth hormone (HGH), as an adjunct to ovarian stimulation, enhances follicle response in older women and those with severe DOR. Two basic mechanisms have been proposed: a) enhanced response to gonadotropins by up-regulating the FSH receptors on follicular granulosa cells and, b) a direct effect of HGH on the egg itself whereby mitochondrial activity is enhanced. Human eggs do have HGH receptors but eggs retrieved from older women show decreased expression of such receptors (as well as a reduced amount of functional mitochondria) when compared with those derived from younger women. It was recently shown that older women treated with HGH showed a marked increase in functional mitochondria in their eggs along with improved egg quality.

Here's one explaining the role DHEA plays:

    https://www.centerforhumanreprod.com...s/dhea/whatis/

It will be great if TFC (is that where you were??) implement Wazza's protocol for you so you Luv so that you can have the 3 more tries if needs be to maximise your chances

No doubt all it will take is a phone call from him!!!

So the stick this morning doesn't show anything conclusive at all - couldn't really even call it a squinter to be honest. You guys should be used to me posting evap lines and pretending they're squinters by now

Will see what this afternoon's POAS effort brings as I normally get better results in the afternoon!

Come on @Summer! Afternoon wees usually worked better for me too.
@tuxcat sorry for the late reply my internet is up the bugger at the moment. So do RPA do PGD testing? Is that the testing the nurse meant? Why would they insist on that? I'm a little confused, ha. Or are they talking about something to do with the quarantine period?

With my donor cycle at Genea they took cells from the hatching blastocysts on day 5 and (for the two that weren't hatching yet) day 6 and froze them. Then the results took 3 weeks to come back. Meanwhile they prepared me for the FET and transferred as though they were day 5 blastocysts. Does that help?

It was all much more expensive than I thought it would be going through Genea but we did do PGD testing, the donor counseling, extra blood tests for her and the immune protocol for me too. Plus we had to go through 3 FETs that are weirdly expensive (about 2.5k each I think, don't quote me on that!). Set us back 20K all up I think. I would have preferred waiting the 4 months quarantine and saved us enough money for a trip (or two!) to the UK but then I don't believe RPA do the immune treatment which may have got us over the line.
