    Default Super high beta after FET

    Hi,

    I finally have a BFP after 9 fresh cycles of IVF, BUT.... our beta seems too high. It's 9938 17dp3dt (so that's around 20dpo).

    Please, does anyone have experience with betas like this? Please let me know your outcomes, good or bad.

    We have been told that it could be multiples, molar, down syndrome....

    Any help would be good. Thanks.

    Betas can be so variable, I think those numbers sound good. I looked back and my beta at 20dp5dt was 11652 with one bub. At the same time a lady I know had HCG 99000 at six weeks (about 28dpo) and all was fine.

    Did you transfer one or two?

    Congratulations on your bfp @klesis! Nine stim cycles would certainly be no walk in the park - I've only done six and it feels like more than enough. My hcg this pregnancy was 11800 at 17dp4dt (so 21 DPO) and it turned out to be twins I'm 12 weeks now and all seems to be on track so far. Did you have a double embryo transfer? Is your FS concerned about your levels?

    @Flower78 and @MrsChino,Thanks for your kind replies. Yes, it has been a long and hard journey fraught with lots of BFNs and tears...We transferred 2 on a 3dt. I think both were fair grade, we only had 2 anyway! I looked at betabase, and the average hCG for this dpo seems to be 1000+. Hence the worry. Our RE did caution us by saying he hadn't seen such high numbers before, but we can't do anything until 7 week scan (in a couple of weeks). Nervous wreck, and can't help expecting the worst... like molar pregnancy or down syndrome... (we're really used to bad news, as you can tell)Thanks for your replies, ladies. I really really appreciate your reassurance by posting your own high betas. These numbers seem to be hard to find. I'm glad to know it can still turn out fine. Fingers crossed. xxx

    Yes, I can absolutely relate to constantly expecting bad news! Even now I am hyper-aware that this could all be taken away at any minute. Damn IVF for messing with our minds like this. We were a little concerned about down syndrome with my high hcg too, but in the end were reassured when we saw the 2 sacs at the 7 week scan. I may be wrong, but my understanding was that molar pregnancies often have suuuuper high hcg levels - like, over 100,000 early on. I think your hcg would be around the higher end of normal like mine was (especially if it is twins!), rather than being massively concerning. Hang in there. Fingers crossed it's good news for you in a couple of weeks.

    @MrsChino,

    Thanks, you have no idea how happy I am to see your beta number and know it's turning out fine for you. I will update in 2 weeks. The waiting game never ends... I am petrified of what happens after that even if 7 week is fine...as we had a miscarriage after 7 week U/S 3 years ago, on our only other BFP. Here's hoping for a good outcome. Breathe in, breathe out, one day at a time.

    Thank you so much, and wishing you a happy and healthy 2nd and 3rd trimester!

    Oh if you implanted two then your numbers could be twins, or just one strong bubba. Stay strong, I can't imagine the stress after trying so long. And congratulations on your pregnancy! Will be looking forward to hearing about your scan.

    My hc game at 5+1 (22 Dpo) was 10900. One healthy happy baby was in there and I had a very uneventful pregnancy. Wishing you the same
