Default Has anyone ever been to a careers counsellor?

And how did you find it? Worth the money?

Yep. Years ago though and no it wasn't worth the money. I just might not have had a good one.

My sil went to one and she said it was the best thing she did.
I suppise it does make a big difference if you actually get a good person to see.

I have been thinking about seeing one myself

Yep, waste of time for me too.
I found the advice was too general and not at all relevant to my industry. I was basically given a folder to work through and a resume template (which was extremely basic) and that was that. I was told they would work with me through the whole process, that I could send them my resume, cover letter and selection criteria answers to look over and give feedback, but they never returned my emails so I gave up. Luckily I didn't pay for it, it was part of a redundancy package.
