In Brisbane? Not that I know of. I think the mater may be the only one?

No, not at the Wesley. If you're on the north side water births are done in the birth centre at the Royal too. You'd be hard pressed to find more than a handful of private obstetricians who would do a water birth. The ones I know who do I think tend to be led by the midwives and only step in if required.

Arrivals Obstetricians in South Brisbane are fine with water births (at Mater though)

There used to only be two (maybe 3) pools available.

As a Mater public patient (not relevant to the OP) don't you have to be part of the trial to have a water birth now? M'LadyEm?...

When I had DD with Arrivals...you could be in water during labour but not for the birth at the Mater.

I ended up on monitoring so couldn't even do that.

I'm not sure if that's still the case though.

Mater now allows water births (as in actually giving birth) as long as you are low risk (not sure what the definitions of that are though). I had one as part of their trial earlier this year. I've been informed the trial is finished and they now offer them routinely as long as there is a pool free.
