That would hurt me. You are worth effort, pregnant or not.

your dp sounds like a very sweet guy!

He has his moments lol...He has a tough exterior but has a big heart. He made the card after a little fight, and I treasure it because, for him it was a lot of effort. On the front he drew a heart with a key through it and wrote some lovely stuff. Words can't explain how much I love him. I am going to go and make him one soon, I could have bought him one but, I want to put effort into it too. Also, it made it a bit special to me as he has never done that with past relationships. Made me feel good.

I think effort means more than money. That's my opinion when it comes to the heart. A card with some lovely words is better than flowers. I'm not materialistic though.

I know JWs don't celebrate v day and a lot of other catholic feast days, assumed you're a JW is all.
Nothing to do with not feeling comfortable, I just felt like it was derailing the thread too much. I've always been honest about my beliefs on here and I do identify as a Christian ( and yes I am a JW) I have no shame in disclosing that, just isn't necessary in some discussions. I'll usually just say christian as most people can identify with basic christian beliefs whereas many are confused or misinformed about what JWs may believe, even tho we are Christians and follow the bible as closely as possible. I also don't want to come across as preaching or pushing my beliefs unless specifically asked hence why I thought a pm would be more appropriate

But I'm happy using many bible translations and they are all basically the same, just some use different words with same meanings or some are in more modern English etc. All say the same thing in regards to worship being to God alone.

no I completely agree. a nice home cooked meal or nice handmade card beats going out and giving flowers IMO every time!

now go make your dp a nice card! :P

So in honour of it being Valentine's Day we decided spur of the moment this afternoon to take DD for a picnic early dinner at the beach where we got married which is only 5 minutes from home. Took a picnic rug and sat under the trees in the shade it was really lovely I'm glad we went
