I don't think anyone is "shaming" people in here for using them.

With the questioning tone of the original post i would say its shaming people with older children for using the parents room.

Eating boogers is gross. Hormonal women having the occasional flare up is understandable, sort of.

I asked if I was just being cranky/hormonal and if it was common as I don't have older kids so I don't know. If I was shaming I probably would have said something like, why are they using the parent room toilet when they can use the regular toilets".

I don't think anyone in this thread has been shaming anyone for using them.

If you read the whole thread I did say that earlier.

    This ^^

The facilities contained in a parents room are focused on babies and toddlers - change tables, microwaves, private feeding areas, toddler play area and large private toilet for the toilet training toddlers with lots of space for mum or dad to be there with them and help them out.

I don't like older kids (ie. 10) using parents rooms. It makes me feel edgy.

Because you can't fit a pram in a standard size cubicle in the ladies or mens toilets. Not everyone wants to keep their pram outside the cubicle unsupervised.

I take my toilet trained 3 year old into the parents room toilets because they have a little toilet and she is little. I thought that's what it was made for ???
Also has a little hand basin made for her height and an adult toilet right beside it so we can go at the same time. I don't go out of my way to use the parent toilet because it's crash hot or I just want the luxury (it's often busy and stinky and has a little gated in play ground and ABC kids running on a flat screen TV hanging on the wall and is a nightmare to get DD to leave, she thinks it's all pretty awesome...) I use it because DD cannot wipe herself yet or properly balance by herself on an adult sized toilet and so uses her hands to hold on to the outside of the cistern and, well... Have you ever seen the outside of a public toilet bowl? Not something I want her touching. But, I have zero issue taking her in with me to the adult toilets; I'll always check the children's first but if there's a line I don't wait around, I'll happily help her use the big toilet but absolutely prefer the little one for obvious reasons.
