I know @hopefulangel1987!! A whiff of a suggestion and I'm right onto it haha
Coenzyme Q10 is a supplement which is has been used to protect the heart and keep it strong etc. But research has shown it generally helps with energy production in cells in the body- whether it be heart, brain or sex cells (eggs and sperm).. Apparently it's very good for sperm production. It's good for mitochondrial energy which sperm needs alot of to swim.
So there's evidence that it helps to prove egg quality. Ive been on it since ttc, was on it for about 6mnths when we fell preg with ds. Like other supplements, no harm in trying it

Good luck with the move on Thurs!! Hope u find a fertility specialist near ur new home!!

Welcome to IVF @hopefulangel1987! What a bumper about timing though, but think of it as having an extra month to prep your body for it. Higher risk of ohss means they will probably start off with a lower dose of meds. Will Vitex help to balance it out in the time being and reduce the risks? @tjuls, the expert, might be able to tell - I have no idea about Vitex, but given that it balances out hormones, it might just get the the risks lowered a little. I think if you can use this one month to lower the risks, that would be a real bonus. I came down with ohss (and so did @ABG79) and it's seriously not fun, plus ET gets cancelled too!

But yay to one step forward!

I also go to a clinic that specialises in pregnancy and IVF for my acupuncture sessions, they are located in Wynyard (works for me because I work 5 mins from there). I find it better because I feel more confident that the acupuncturists are more targeted at prepping my body for what is to come. They ask the right questions, understand my anxieties, plus the clinic is very accomodating towards dates with IVF and all that. They even have a special 2-session package for before-after ET treatments and they squeeze you in at the last min after you get confirmation of your ET timing (I booked the date with tentative times and then when I got the call from Primary and called them, they were able to adjust to suit).

I give them a 2 thumbs up - have been really happy to get the extra support. The ladies there are very understanding and reassuring of the IVF journey. For e.g. my acupuncturist will do a particular treatment and tell me that it is to increase blood flow to the uterus and help build the lining in preparation for ET, the before ET treatment was to help relax the uterine walls to receive / welcome the blastocyst, the after was to help implantation, etc. I am happily continuing my sessions although I have paced them out a little now. Hopefully all will go fine and I will have these sessions for whole first trimester.

Hope you find one that suits you too!

@tjuls, you are the knowledge queen I say! LOL.

I think you are very brave to have tried them all. I think I'm opposite of you - I am pretty risk adverse so I don't like trying new things. The only thing I have tried so far is acupuncture and I have to say if not for ohss and feeling so crap afterwards, I probably wouldn't have tried it either! I wanted to feel better from the ohss and remove the bloatedness and that's the only reason why I did it (desperate then I think).

I hope you aren't too bored at home. Feeling tired and fatigued?

It's not a good idea to take Vitex while stimming @hopefulangel1987.. Sorry I thought u were only taking it this cycle ( natural) cycle. Taking Vitex during stimming is counter productive since it's lowers the FSH in ur body but increases LH.. (Sorry for the technical lingo) since during ur stimming u are injecting FSH, so it wouldn't do u much good. However if u are at risk of ohss after stimming, and ur transfer gets cancelled, you can certainly take Vitex on ur FET cycle to balance out ur hormones. Note that I waited for af to finish before taking Vitex. I've read some women take it during af and it worked the same way for them.
It's been recommended to women who are trying to get their cycles back on track after a MC as well
Something to try @MrsSingh when u have recovered hun
Pls don't take my word for it though.. I'm going off what my naturopath said during a lecture and that was along time ago!

Went to the loo and had some brown smudges again (first being around midday which I thought was nothing). I don't know if it's enough to consider it spotting but it's brown smudge!!!! Omg omg omg.. Trying not to over analyse.. Arghhh!!

Hahaha I'm only 1dp5dt @hopefulangel1987!! LOL and besides I have to go on a treasure hunt for this pee sticks I told hubby to hide..haha

If u're taking Vitex this cycle, yes stop on day af arrives. And then take it again the cycle of ur FET.. If u end up being able to do a fresh transfer, then don't go back on it because ur hormones are already out of balance coming off stimulation. I hope u don't even need to go to nxt mnth hun.. Hope Vitex helps u THIS cycle!

Hi everyone! @hopefulangel1987 woohoo! Roll on next month! Exciting times ahead!!

AFM-first day of feeling a bit 'off', had a niggling headache all day that paracetamol hasn't shifted and just a constant awareness of my ovaries (I guess-it's that general area lol), but it's been a mega long, busy13hrs at work today so I'm pooped! Just did my jab and going to curl up on the couch with some chocolate lol! Early start in the morning, appt for scan at 8am but traffic into the city is horrific as we will be going with it, not against so leaving just after 5.30am to make sure we don't get caught in traffic! If I get there early I can get my bloods done first as they open at 7am! Will update you lovely ladies tomorrow xx
