Default Spin off: if you found $20 on the ground at the mall would you pick it up?

Spin off from wifi topic. Just curious if you found $20 on the ground at the mall would you pick it up?

You didn't see who dropping it so you can't give it back to them ( although you could prob go to the trouble of finding the owner of you really wanted) and it's not near a business so not near their register

Hella, yes! And I'd spend it all on chocolate!

(If, however, I saw it drop from someone's pocket I would like to think I'd be decent enough to return it to it's rightful owner.)

Yes and yes I would keep it. If I saw who dropped it then I would give it back.

I don't believe the rightful owner would be found. Only people who claim to be the owner of it. If I were to hand it to a business then they would likely pocket it.

This scenario though is finders keepers.

20$ yes, Id look for someone looking for it then go from there,
If I found a wallet or money hanging out of an atm or something / had a real way to find the owner Id hand it in

    Big believer in Karma though

Finders keepers unless I saw who had dropped the money.

If it wasn't near anyone and just laying on the ground, I would pick it up.

If it was in a shopping centre with a centre management, I'd hand it in.

Once I found a $20 note out the front of the post office. I could have easily pocketed it, but I went inside and handed it in. No one claimed it after 2 days so the post office staff gave it back to me. Good karma

Finding a wallet would be an entirely different scenario I think. The inconvenience of having to replace all your cards and licence - gosh, I'd be praying for someone to hand it in to me, even if the cash was gone! If I found a wallet, with contact information inside, I would definitely return it to it's rightful owner.

$20 cash though? I agree. Finders Keepers applies! I think it's a gift from the money Gods, especially for me to brighten my day.

I would hand it in to centre management, closest police beat, shop etc... There have been times in my life that $20 would have been the difference between eating and not eating. I get it may not end up with the rightful owner. However I would have done my best to get it back to them and it wouldn't be me depriving them of their money.

I know it's a bit Pollyanna but I'd feel weird taking it.
