I very much hope that not too much media coverage is centred on the upcoming recipients.

People desperate to have a baby are charged huge amounts of money to access treatments that have relatively unknown 'success' rates. (If they're a proven donor then yes, indeed we do know their success rates, plus I'm sure QFG's success rates are transparent!!)
"Young girls are transported across borders so that their eggs can be procured. The people profiting most are the agents, the industry."

I don't disagree with the profiteering bit though!! The rest I find offensive and inaccurate.
Yes, you can see from the wording what they are insinuating. The first red flag went up for me when they were referring to the donors as 'girls' (and the rest of it, referring to them being transported across borders etc). Yes, it does sound like there could have had a more informed response. So easy to put a sleazy slant on the whole thing.

Although I think they must be stretching the reimbursements requirements surely somehow, the donors can't be doing it altruistically? Are they just doing it to get a free flight to Australia? Not much of a holiday I would have thought!

Geez you girls are all very funny! I've only just caught up on the thread and saw that BIB is about to be put down, Tahli's having triplets and Michelle Bridges squatted her baby out! LOL

Am definitely taking notes about the relationship between Tim Tams & pred bloat - great scientific enquiry going on there - and I see Jaffa's have made the grade in relation to LBL - note to self "must start new Jaffa study, stat!"

@Blossom74 very cool that you're starting a cycle - YAY!!!

@Green lady I can't begin to imagine how disappointed and upset you are after getting two abnormal results. It's hard to take and I really hope the one you have frozen is the normal 1 in 5 for you. Is the next step a transfer of your frostie?

I seriously looked at the Known Donor program because if we do DE we would prefer a known donor, but I just couldn't quite come at the cost, when we could do two full SA cycles or one cycle and three or four trips for the same cost. It looked like a good program, so I hope it all goes smoothly for the ladies involved and the government doesn't ruin it before it even starts.

AFM, having an emotional day today which I guess was on the cards after everything I've been through the last couple of months. I just want a baby so, so badly the pain of that just cripples me sometimes and I end up howling on the floor just unable to contain the heartbreak. Today I'm back to thinking, what is the point of my life if I don't have a child? With all the custody stuff my envy of DH's ex is surfacing again too, knowing that he shared pregnancy and birth and all those beautiful little milestones of having a baby, with that awful woman... So I think I'd better start getting some solid plans happening so I can feel like I'm heading somewhere. What I would give to be five years younger...

I am so far behind on this thread.

First of big congratulations to @winsor. I am so so happy for you love. Please just live in the moment and enjoy it and not think negative thoughts. I know you are worried as I can hear it in your posts but please just say "I am pregnant" and smile.

Caesardust good idea not poas. I think that those things do your head in. I can hear Blossom gasp and say oh no she didn't just say that, but like avocados we have to agree to disagree.

Charlie glad to hear your lining is co-operating and hope it hasn't gone backwards at your next scan. I never even knew that was possible.

Green lady sorry to hear your embryos were abnormal. If it was me, I would transfer the 2 in the freezer so I didn't die wondering. I know you want to minimise miscarriage and I would feel the same, but I would just have to know.

Summer big hugs Hun. I can just hear the pain in your posts and wish there was something I could do for you.

Bib hope you feel better soon and agree with the others that it may be better to try echinacea before euthanasia.

    Hello to everyone else.
