Which is completely true. Most of us are encouraged to get second opinions when given diagnosis's etc in the normal course of events regarding our health etc, it's the same for IVF. After I'd met Wazza when our appointment was over, I didn't feel bad anymore.
I knew immediately I'd done the right thing by transferring over to him. I needed a FS who would leave no stone unturned in our quest for a BFFP and Wazza was the one. It wasn't just about the possibility of immune issues (though if I'd had any, at least I knew they'd be treated), it was also the different protocols, drugs, dosages and methods of delivery not to mention the Endo scratches/Lipoidal Flush, all the supplements including DHEA/Melatonin/HGH etc.
I had no hope of having any of that done or trying any of it with my original FS as he didn't believe in immune issues. He point blank refused the supplements, different FSH like Menopur etc. He was very conservative... which is his right as it is anyone's to believe/not believe in whatever treatment options/protocols/supplements etc. A lovely, lovely man, but very conservative.
No further stones would've been turned if we'd stuck with him and I needed to know for my own peace of mind that had we walked away empty handed, absolutely everything would've been done, tested and tried in the process. The only way to make that happen was to go to someone who would do that. Plus, in my case, Wazza was more than happy to allow me to be an active participant in my own treatment plan which meant a lot to me as I knew I was being listened to, understood and my opinions on my own body valued.
I say if this second FS is the one who has resonated with you and who feels "right" and who you believe you will have your best chance with, then go with him for the Lap surgery Luv. Start off as you mean to go on.
Finally, yes, different FS often do have contradicting advice about all sorts of things like immune issues (if one believes in them and the other doesn't), protocols, dosages, actual drugs used and the list goes on!!
Again, it's about going with who feels right and resonates with you and who you believe...for whatever reason...is going to get you over the line Luv IMOxo

@Precious40 sorry I've just skimmed over the pages from today and saw your post. Ive had both a blighted ovum and ectopic in my left tube and just wanted to say that with the ectopic they didn't find anything in my uterus and therefore started looking elsewhere and it was very very hard to see. How many weeks are you now? If you are feeling anything strange go to the ER. I don't want to scare you, but if it is ectopic its serious and they need to sort it out now.
You don't necessarily get a lot of pain with an ectopic until its rupturing, and you also don't have to have surgery if your levels are below a certain number (not sure what). I had 1 methotrexate shot and then a couple of nights later had serious crippling pain and they admitted me and had me ready for surgery if i needed to but it did eventually settle down and healed without.
If they saw a sac that was definitely a sac then this might not be the case but I just wanted to warn you to take anything unusual seriously even if you think its probably nothing. Does your report from the u/s have measurements and more info on it? Hopefully its what they first thought but please get it checked out, don't wait.
You have an appointment tomorrow then? I would have thought that the Dr would have been right on to it if there wasn't anything to see that seemed legit but this guy seems a bit unusual in his approach to the whole thing from the start.
look after yourself, thinking of you in this really sh!tty time x
@Precious40 , I hope you get everything sorted soon lovely, must be still so hard for you. As far as having 2 FS goes, I completely agree with BIB. I can't add anything to what she said, and I had the same experience moving to my new FS. Go with what feels right x
Wow ladies. Thanks heaps for all your personal info
Maybe I need to clarify... The specialist I saw today is a gynaecologist and obstetrician. I just wanted a second opinion about immune issues. I want to Se his thoughts on implantation etc. His clinic doesn't do iVF. So I would stay with my current FS but use any added meds through this new specialist.
All other ivf clinics are a distance from me. And I've got three embies in the freezer. If these don't work then my donor and I will move clinics. We've already spoken about this too
Hi everyone Congratulations @Winser... I'm losing track of all the posts today ! Has anyone had experience with very sporadic cycles ?
Mine have neen regular up under now at around Day25 but i'm just got early period at Day18 - along with a lot of feeling very PMS.
I'm guessing this means my FSH is way up.
I'm wondering if its even going to be worthdoing another natural cycle or if i go straight to OS donor.. did find out its around 30k so i cant look at doing both
@amie999 - I had one like this before I started IVF. Never got a positive on my OPK test that month and then AF came day 17 or 18 - was annovulatory cycle - no ovulation so progesterone doesn't rise and AF comes early. I haven't had one since and I track ovulation every month I haven't been cycling as I like to keep track of what my cycles are doing
@Caesardust hopefully the lines will start getting darker for you, it's such a head fruck!
@Summer wow that drama is full on, just what you need right now. I think the title "mole" is entirely appropriate!! Love that word, it's so our generation hey girls I hope it all gets sorted out without too much more bs. Glad to hear that the counselling is getting somewhere with you guys too, small steps.
@winsor I second the orange wee thing..hehe. Stop guzzling the water! Love the sneaky bloods thing, I can just hear Robyn saying to wait til day 17 that they won't do it any earlier...been there before! I'm so excited for you and also am in awe at the 43.8year old embie. That right there is what we all want to see in here!
@Charlie74 try not to stress yourself out with the lining measurement. 5.8mm is basically 6mm, think about how small that difference is and you are doing just fine.
@Bongley how you doin? How's bubbly? Hehe
also thanks to @gangini for your advice, and blonde I guess I knew the answer but was just feeling restless waiting. I also can do with keeping up the weight loss for another few weeks so mid April really isn't too much of a stretch, after all I've waited 6 frucking years what's another month
