My father and his side are Dutch. The different varieties of these are crazy. And yep, as a breakfast food. We also had biscuits (like big biscuits) you put on bread also. It's really weird when I wrote it down.

There's only one way to solve this once and for all. Bring me two plates with each type of fairy bread and I'll compare the two!

The muisjes (mice) are yum (aniseed flavour) can get blue and white or pink and white but you can get one that translates to crushed mice, and it's basically a white aniseed powder.

Don't know that I have a opinion on this. Any will do for me. I don't like either and the kids don't seem to care.

Sorry if I upset you in the other thread .

Now this thread means I have to go to the deli and spend way too much on sprinkles! The fairy bread thread already had me craving, now it's gotta be hagel!

Exactly. We'll all need a plate with both type of sprinkles. For science.

Do you do the Dutch Licorice?
I love aniseed - black cats, black jelly beans, I remember when black jelly babies were aniseed flavoured. Cannot do the Dutch version!

Margarine. Always margarine, white bread and real 100s and 1000s.

Using butter is like putting fruit in chocolate.
