First one he told me to drive when I felt ready and my insurance company had no restrictions. I drove a week after my CS. Second time same ob said two weeks so I had to wait it out.

But I felt fine a week after both. By fine I mean able to drive, not go for a run 😄

My OB said 6 weeks, as my DH was present for the conversation 6 weeks it was! DH is a police officer 😊

To be honest though I did not cope all with my c section and would probably not have been up for driving in the early weeks anyway. I think as pp have said if you can wear the belt comfortably and depress the brake suddenly without pain you should be fine.

My Ob said I could when I felt ready. I could have driven myself home from hospital if I had to. I ended up driving myself to the GP when I got mastitis 7 days post c-section.

I would be more concerned about your BP than your recent surgery.

My ob advised that I could drive as soon as I felt ready. I had a little test drive the day before my DH went back to work so it would have been a day short of two weeks post op. I found driving was fine, but twisty car parks were a drama so plan your trip ahead so that you can park easily (if possible) when you feel up to it.
